Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
I was wondering if it was better to stack all of one type of damage or mix things up when someone told me to stack all disruptor type weapons for the resist debuff. Looking at stowiki it doesn't say whether or not each disruptor weapon you fire reduces a targets resistance.
The disruptor ability is a proc, as in, it has a small chance to happen every time you fire a disruptor energy weapon. If it should activate, then the enemy loses some damage resistance for a bit
It is better to stack all of one energy type, because you can run a specific energy console, to help boost said damage by a good amount.
Not just the consoles, but also proc rates. They're pretty low per weapons, so if you mix weapons to get different procs, you also dilute your proc rate down. Even firing 6-8 energy weapons, it's not that uncommon to go a fight without a proc. Firing one of each, each proc type will be very rare.
From what I've seen watching my damage resistances when a disruptor proc occours, the disruptor proc lowers disruptor resistance only; so if you are using multiple types of weapons, only the disruptors will do more damage.
And ussboleyn, I have seen the proc stack on my ship lately. Knocked my passive 25% resistance to disruptor down to 3% or so at one point.

This, I did not know. If it's true, you just saved me a bunch of time and ECs, since I was about to outfit a ship with all disruptors. I've never used the weapon type before. I was just going by the tooltip description.
Can anyone else verify that this is the case? Nothing against you cursix; it's just always better to have second opinion, or better yet, a second fact.

OK, I take back what I said. Apparently it does debuff your resistance for everything but it gives a higher debuff for disruptor. This is why at first I didn't think it was affecting anything because I'm usually running at high resistances to begin with, so the small breach on my other resistances didn't seem to show.
I just ran a test using one of my characters who has almost no resistances and had someone with disruptors blast her.
While the non-disruptor resists are significantly lower, it still plays big part for the team. Slap an attack pattern beta on that and you're golden for team play.

THis is just false and is obviously just a un-informed claim. The disruptor proc lowers ALL dmg resist by up to -35 (base is -10) for all incoming dmg. If your ship was reading a drop in disruptor resist it was being caused by an outside source.
If your claim was also true then that would make hybrid weapons like the Romulan and Episode Hybrid weps useless. Think about it
