The reason I think the Wells and Korath are not the 1000 day vet reward ship is because of what Dan said in the Q&A....

He basically said that they will be releast in September and that the 1000 day vet reward wont be releast untill October.

He also said something about only "time" will tell what the next lock box ship will be.

You can't believably retcon all of your plot holes and mistakes without changing history.

You change history with a time ship.

Unfortunately I won't be able to buy the new KDF ship. I just bought the Garumba and the Kar'fi a few days ago and spent approx 60K dilithium extra on the Kar'fi frigates.

This. So they will put the Korath in the lockboxes, and it's the next KDF ship we were promised. That's only my guess though.

Furhtermore, it's unlikely they release a new lockbox and a new ship at the same time, they often allow the living wallets some time to replenish before releasing something new.

Will buy the Korath though, unless it's a cruiser. I have a good amount of millions to reward the lucky guy who will get his Korath. Which means that i'll buy it!

No lockbox ship has so far been split into a fed version or KDF version. They are 'neutral' faction ships not allied to either side.

That alone tells me the Wells and Korath are either a c-store ship or the 1000 day vet reward since they are faction-specific.

Since there are two ships made that are timeships and that we have been hinted that an andorian ship and the Vesta were in the works... and taking into account the chronic biased approach to cstore ship releases by cryptic... then logic dictates that is most likely that:

Wells and Korath are the 1000 day vet rewards.
Andorian or Vesta will be the next store ship.
KDF gets nothing again.

What IS the Korath? I've hit Memory Alpha and Beta and can't find anything except a scientist by that name.

I'm hoping that some of the new ships we're being promised are additional KDF fleet ships; we really need a science vessel...like a Fleet Varanus.

I heard the time feature will be active in game, so you can go back in time and give your self an extra alpha strike.

When opening the current lockboxes there are faction-specific ships-- Mirror Vor'cha is given when KDF, and Mirror Star Cruiser or Mirror Assault Cruiser awarded Fed side. Plus, a few other non-ship rewards have been faction split. Just because they haven't had the main draw ship (Orb Weaver in the latest case) being faction split doesn't mean they won't this time, seeing as they have the capability to do so.

As for being a vet reward, it sounds like it'd be a really cool and worthwhile thing given to Cryptic's loyal subscribers... Which leads me to believe that it won't be a vet reward, seeing as the last thing given was cute non-combat monkey and most the ones before that weren't that great. Plus, they're still figuring out how subscribers fit into the new F2P model, so it being limited to such a small portion of the player base when they could make more money by it being lockbox/C-Store doesn't seem likely to me. Maybe the Vet reward will be a variant of the ship which you don't have to lockbox-fish for or lacking the C-Store's console would be the best I'd expect if you're nearing that mark.

Well, whatever happens. . .I refuse to invest time and zen into unlocking boxes. It's a gamble I'm not willing to take, especially since I'm not a power player who can grind endlessly. If there's a new C-store ship and it's something along the lines of a decent BoP/Raptor level ship, I might actually buy it. It has to be worth spending Zen on, I'm not some feddie with deep pockets willing to buy every bit of crap that Cryptic/PWE put out. It's why I'm still reluctant to buy the Fleet Hoh'sus, because it's the equivalent of spending 20 dollars on a ship that's only available to a single character. If it were account-wide, I'd be much less reluctant, because it's a solid improvement over the Hegh'ta and the B'rel in terms of straight-up combat performance.
