# 1 Unlocking Starbase Tier 1
09-12-2012, 03:11 PM
Quick question. Me and a couple guys have a small fleet. We just reached what I think should unlock Tier 1 starbase. It says you need 1000 xp. From what I've read completing the military, engineering, and science tiers should give this xp. However, my military is 10,000 or tier1, my engineering is 11,000 and science is 11,000. Yet the "I" starbase tier is not unlocked. Am I missing something? Thanks.

You need to complete one of the starbase upgrade projects like the shipyard before you can do the tier 1 upgrade project. that is in project line 4 or the holding screen.

Did you do the construction mission once you hit the 10k for any of them? Once one is completed then you get the 1000 starbase xp

Once you've gotten a tier, Sci, Eng or Tac, to 10k you need to do the upgrade to whichever of the three you want. For example, complete the shipyard upgrade for Tac and you will receive the 1k Starbase XP needed to unlock the project to upgrade your SB to T1.

Thanks for all the replies. I did not know you had to go do these side projects. I thought just filling the bars unlocked it. Thanks all.

You got to your starbase in Eta Eridani and dock with it as you would any other base.

No you can't modify it except to add the 200k dilithium projects but those aren't running at the moment.

Good luck with the Starbase progression, it's a long hard road.

You cannot modify it yourself. You can do those way overpriced special projects for 200k Dilithium, but that is the limit of modifications sadly.

Fed: Eng (Five) Sci (Maelrock) Tac (Shen) Rom: Sci (Mervek)

If you're a small fleet.... I suggest you focus EVERYTHING on the Dilitium Mine FIRST.

start by leveling up the "Investment tiers" for the mine, Trade and Development to their respective Tier ones and then Upgrading the Mine to T1 proper then continuing to upgrade ONLY the investment tiers to T3 before finishing out the mine.

This will allow your fleet to not only gain fleet credits the T1 Mine will knock out a good chunk of Dilitium for upgrade projects, you can run the Doff assignments on the mine proper(they grant EC and Dilithum) and it will also help your fleet level up your holding faster. ^-^

Thats what I'm doing as there seems to be just two of us in our fleet at the moment. So dilithium mine is the first to be upgraded
