this is my first time playing STO, but i got an issue

when i run STO, the Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate says:
"Trying to update the Launcher
Please be patient
Tried Connecting 1 Time"

after a while, the "Tried Connecting 1 Time" text change to
"Tried Connecting 2 Time" and with Connection Problem saying:
"Unable to establish connection to patch server. Please check your internet connection. If problem persist, please contact Technical Support"

and im sure my computer is connected to internet

is the server down or something? thanks

No, it's not just you. It's happening to a bunch of us and it's been an ongoing problem for months. There's a long thread going way back, hang on and I'll get you the url.

There are a dozen suggestions but none of them really help, at least not for me, and not for most of us. I can't get in the game at all, and I'm becoming quite disgusted.

This is still an issue for me. The only way I can play the game is with using a VPN program that changes my IP address. (It was suggested late in that above thread). This allows the launcher to initiate and connect to the Cryptic patch server. It is as if someone has blocked my trying to connect. Sometimes the problem disappears, but not lately. Its such a pain.

I play a week normal... today morining alsp but after 5 h i have the same issu.

I reinstall the game, disconnect my net connection replace the file and nothing help.

Any one knows how to resolve it ???? pls help
