Just curious if this has happened to anyone else. I dropped a triolic pattern enhancer, to scare random crewmen on the base. Out of nowhere, an original series styled klingon beamed onto the ops deck of my starbase and started attacking the enhancer first, then crewman and myself. Is this something new with High Security?
Using the pattern enhancers has a small chance to spawn a random enemy. They've always been like that.

Hehe I'd not considered that, i'd love to see if the security guards fight back.

The best way to get the most fun out of this is to have players with tactical class characters, all of whom have the Triolic Pattern Enhancer (TPE). Once all players have deployed the TPE, they regroup in close proximity of each other and activate the "Tactical Initiative" ground power, which will lower the cooldown time allowing all of the players to quickly redeploy more TPEs.
