"Login failed for unknown reason" error
Missing additional character slot for current/ lapsed Gold Members
Slow patching in the launcher
A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
Assuming they had to pay big bucks to get it if they don't make the stats on the Vesta OP then it will not cover their costs
And Crytipc - giving it crappy stats but an amazing console - or 2 won't slide - most people will see right through.
Bare min it should have 3 univeral BO slots
really I think it should be the first to break 10 with 11 - 4/4/3 - console slots
a 12+ turn rate would be good to make use of those cannons up front
42k Hull
1.4 shield mod as a super sci ship
Its very probable that Cryptic will charge 3000 zen plus for the ship to cover the extra costs so it's even more important that the ship screams - "next level up - have to buy!"
Where does this fantasy of the Vesta costing Cryptic extra to get come from?
Assuming facts not in evidence.
Ambiguous ownership and both the designer and Cryptic needing to get permission from multiple sources independently do not inherently create excessive cost, only delays. There's never been discussion of licensing costs, only lack of response on permissions. Delays will inflate the budget of a standalone release, but with an incremental microtransaction model like STO uses for its monetized content, the effect isn't as significant, unless the delays tie up enough manpower that other incremental releases are also delayed.
And that's where the theory dies. STO has certainly not failed to maintain a microtransaction release schedule. A majority of the ships on the C-store, and for that matter the game, landed there AFTER the first talk of the Vesta, all the lockboxes, several seasons, the foundry...
i dont see the extra cost thing . but i gotta agree that ships must move on and if the vesta is the first off a new generation of ships i will be content ,
though i would rather they worked on content that will immerse me in trek lore and story than constant zen-store candy . but i guess who does not =p

Well, as of 2409 the ship design would be almost 30 years old meaning we already have loads of newer and more advanced ships than the Vesta ingame.
First thing sales of the Regent were almost non-existant - I said it would bomb and it did.
I admitted in that thread later that I was deliberately going over the top - primarily to bug KDF players. But as most KDF forum goers who have tracked me since then I have been 100% supportive of the KDF and have made posts all across the forums asking them to fix things for the KDF. I asked Dan Stahl recently to put big notices in when a FED player can open up KDF - I have a thread in Game play bugs right now asking them to fix the First city re-direct - in fact since many KDF forum goers have given up asking for change I am one of the new ones on their case - so I don't think that thread you mentioned carries the same weight.
dont you mean every time the feds get a new ship we get this :p
Not exactly this, we usually get someone demanding that this or that ship MUST be an escort because...I don't know.
I particularly remember the idea to make the Nebula an escort because of its small size and excessive maneuverability.
