I see several Sovy refits in Elite STFs, but they usually use the regular Sovy skin.

I saw altogehter 5 Heavy Escort Carriers in STFs yesterday, not counting my own (which again uses the standard Akira skin)

So, honest question:

What percentage of Regents compared to the overall number of ships (in Sector Space, Sol System etc.) do you need to see to not call a ship a "bomb"?

The VESTA is the first completely new Starfleet C-Store starship to the Game since the Oddy - off course it needs to 1 up the bar.
Why?
Because you now use the Oddy as an arbitrary landmark?

I presume you left the Atrox carrier which was released after the Odyssey out of your equation because...?

If that's the case, what about in a few months when another new ship appears?
Will we then need a thread where that ship since it was the first new ship since the Vesta needs to be equipped with 11, 12 or 13 consoles?

I think you need to throttle down a bit and take a look at the ships that hit the C-Store in the past.
Ships like the Dreadnought didn't sell because they were more powerful than others (in fact the original Dreadnought was more of a tier 4.5 than a tier 5 ship) but because people wanted to fly that ship.

Same goes for ships like the Vesta.
It's not about moar gunz or moar skillz.
It's about the ship.
Please keep than in mind when you open up sich threads because you seem to completely overlook this for some reason.

so you spent a month right clicking on everyone's assault cruiser, in every zone in every part of sector space, from DS9 to ESD, started every STF and Fleet mark event click on their ships to see if they were refits, for 6 hours while making Dil for your insane star base, and also took into account those players that got the ship for the torpedo and put them on their Odysseys almost being everywhere at one time with the power of the Q.

well I've been playing this game wrong then you can become Q

.
I said the first new Starfleet starship - the Atrox is not a Starfleet produced Starship - anyone seeing that ship would say its an alien ship and not a starship produced by starfleet - so yes it does not count.

Well as you put it I am apt to do insane things - like my NOW Tier 3 solo starbase! So yes I clicked on a lot of ships.

But no I did not take into account people just buying a ship just for the console and not using it.

wAIT WAIT? Sales of the Regent bombed and yet the Fed faction got another ship anyways? Why wasn't the future release of new ships not tied to thier lack-luster sales of the Regent and denied?

When you said "NOTHING" has changed - were you refering to my stance on the KDF? Maybe you missed my ask crptic question to DStahl:

In either case, the KDF wants to feel established and have their own agenda in the game instead of always playing the "foil" to the Feds. The best way we could tackle this issue is to take a ?build it and they will come? attitude and find a way to let players create Klingons as their first and primary character.)"

So this is the Argument - players have to start a Fed character first - therefore we have to market to the Fed base. Until we get levels 1-22 done on th KDF side we can't do very much with the KDF. Ok I get this. How about this then:

When a person reaches the level that they a can start a KDF character why don't you have a big "pop-up" window - like you get when being promoted, that says : "Congratulations you are now eligable to start a Klingon Character - would you like to go to the log in screen and create one? - (option to click OK or Cancel)

Then when they re-login if they clicked cancel you have a window come up - "you are eligable to create a KDF character would you like to now? _ok or cancel - and provide a little check box just like almost every other software that says "do not show this message again" if they don't want to.

If you implimented something like this then I would actually believe you have some intentions to do something with the KDF. If not since this seems to be such and easy implimentation in the meantime, i will believe that you want every player to continue down the path of the biggest money generator(Fed) and don't really want more players moving on to the KDF.

Also the exact same notice could be used if the RSE is brought into the game.

So what is it?

To allude to the thread's title:

No ship should ever be built intentionally OP. If the ship is undesired (new part refitted Sovvy - I mean Regent) then it may/will bomb, but if a ship is relatively/highly desired, it will be bought despite the statistics.

To wit: Tier 1 TOS Connie.

Onto the next part, the financials: Typically, there is a flat licensing fee then a percentage of profit paid as royalties. I don't think Cryptic / PWE, or any company for that matter, would pay a licensing fee so high that said fee would eat up all anticipated profits. If sales are expected to be low, then the usual offer is "low license, high royalties" - get the license out and pray it's effective enough to generate major high royalties, or, for major sellers, the goal is "high license, low royalties" basically the "we paid for it up front and make a killing off the sales later" plan... What makes a successful manager / company is knowing (taking this case) whether the Vesta is desired enough to make "high license, low royalties" the plan, or is the Vesta a major gamble that going "low license high royalty" might be the way to keep the lion's share of the limited income pool from the Vesta.
Well, with the upgrade announcement leaving NX and Connie fans in the dust again, can we restart / revisit the T5 Connie and NX threads - since they will no longer be "truly" endgame ships... (after we get the T5 versions, it'll be time to see them added to the T5U upgrade charts too...

Nope, I meant you still make threads like this, specifically asking for OP stuff.
