Hi
I post this becuse I an seriously getting frustrated with the constant crashing that is happening with this game. This has been happening for weeks and there is no fixes in eash patch that gets released. Every day I log in, I get 10 mins before the first crash, then each time I load the game back up it crashes after a short while again. Reload and even less time before a crash. After restarting the game after the 4th or 5th crash, it can't even get to the character select screen before crashing.
I have reinstalled my display drivers 3 times (clean installs of the latest nvidia drivers), same with the chipset drivers, I have reinstalled the game 3 times. As I type this I have 7, yes SEVEN cryptic errors sending right now. Yesterday i must have send over a dozen and the same in the past few weeks. My directx reports no problems with my hardware, I have chkdsk'ed my boot drive (where the game is installed) half a dozen times, system file checked my drive all okay. Windows update up to date, ran memory, motherboard and hard drive diagnostic software all shows up as doing great.
It all points to the game itself.
This is getting beyond a joke, time can seemingly be found to put lockboxes and other useless crap in the game, yet none can be spared so that some people can actually play the game in the first place. I have posted several times about this yet all I get is silence, I hate to mither once again, but can you please sort this problem out as soon as possible?

you have a problem with your system somewhere, either a software or hardware issue. something the game does not like or handle well. it could also be a network/ISP issue, as the client doesn't seen all that resilient to errors in transmission/reception.
you mentioned updating hardware drivers and OS...
have you cleaned the system?
does it meet min requirements?
are components staying at optimal temps within your system?
do you have anti-malware/anti-virus installed and running?
do you have other unnecessary apps running?
do you have similar crashes with standalone games? other mmo's?
you've made no mention of your OS or hardware...both tidbits of info would help in narrowing down issues or eliminating them as potential areas for investigation.

And are you using any 3rd party networked gaming utilites? As the STO Client has known incompatibilities with some of them...

I am also having problems with the game crashing constantly. the first day I installed the game I played for 4 hours with 0 issues. That was 3 days ago and since then I can't play more then 5 mins with out a cryptic error.
I started playing with all graphics option all maxed out and after these few days of non stop crashing l lowered the setting and it's made no difference.
All my drivers are up to date, only other game I play is battlefield 3 and it runs flawlessly.
Norton 360 running in background no other anti-spyware or anti-malware.
Asus P8 Z77-VLX; I5 3570k; Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3; GTX 560Ti; WD Caviar Black 1TB; LG BluRay Burner; Cooler Master 922 HAF case with 3 200mm fans and 2 120mm fans, Windows 7 64 bit home premium OS.
All 4 cores run from 99-104 F on idle and 120 F during game play and graphics at about 140 F
Any help on fixing this or ideas on where I can start looking to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated I really like this game a lot!

Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit)
Athlon64 6000+ (dual core) at 3.0 mhz
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (Pallit) 1 GB vram
SupremeFX soundcard
Asus Crosshair II Mobo running the Nforce 780a SLI chipset
Edimax 802.11n Wireless NIC
I first installed the game in April this year and it has ran fine ever since then, I have had the odd disconnect from time to time but the game ran smoothly with setting everything maxed out, from about a month ago it started crashing in the way I previously described.

Nothing wrong with your system I can see. I have noticed a lot more OOPS messages since the last few patches. Only thing I found was restarting my router before playing usually means no crashes. STO seems particularly sensitive to bad packets. If you're in the UK then you are probably going through atlas cogentco servers on route and they seem to be pretty crap too (do a ggole search on their reliability).
Try a modem/router restart before playing if nothing else than to rule it out.

as mattjohnsonva said, nothing wrong with that setup and in his and my first post the client is touchy about bad packets. there is a steady...rumor? that sto doesn't like wireless much either. all that may have been made worse by whatever the recent patches did.
besides what mattjohnsonva stated, turn off on demand patching in options, reverify files, and if possible try a wired connection. while wireless may not be the primary issue, it may be enough of one that changing to wired would allow the client to run. none of that may help until devs get around to making the client less phobic about how it sends/receives info.
personal note: pretty much identical to how i have my system setup (excluding hardware), except i've run into mmo's before that don't like wireless connections so gaming machines are always wired.

I have not tried playing the game until yesterday evening (GMT around 7PM ish), patched the game to its latest update from last thursday. Strangely enough it never once crashed on me until around half past midnight, So I got a solid 5 hours on the game with no problems, no rubber banding and more importantly no crashing. No settings were changed at all, both in the game and with my PC.
I had previously tried some of your suggestions, re-verifying files and turning off the on-demand patching and that made no difference to the issue I was having before last night when it worked flawlessley. Running a wired connection is impossible for me as the router and modem is in another room.
With all that said, I thought after last night that the problem had gone away on its own or the latest patch might have sorted it (doubtful since I looked at the patch notes and did not mention any fixes for crashing or server stability), however I came onto the game this morning around 11AM GMT and got about 45 mins and it crashed again. Been reloading the game constantly since then and its like it was before yesterday evening.
I am definately convinced that it is something to do with the server, possibly an intermittent problem, my theory being that it might be related to the time I play the game and traffic. I intend to try playing again at the same time as yesterday to see if it keeps crashing again and try to post and update.
Just to add, I have also tried adjusting some of the troubleshooting options in the graphics tab of the in-game options and none of those made any difference. I have also tried changing instances to ones with the least number of players in every location I go in the game to reduce the chances of crashing due to server load, no luck with that either.
Edited to add: tried playing at the same time as sunday night last night and it was crashing constantly again.

Still no luck after the latest patch, got 5 minutes out of the game today at 7:40 ish GMT before it crashed again.
I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks if the game is still screwed as it is right now then I'm uninstalling it and playing something else. I just wish the devs would notice this problem and get a fix for it, its been weeks and soon to be months since this started happening.

Have you tried to play the game in Windowed Maximized mode i am finding that Full Screen mode sucks in this game.Long loading times crash's can be caused.
I have been playing in Full windowed maximized mode and have not had a crash in over a year.
