I was looking at the weapons offered in the fleet starbase, on the counters in front of the vendors there is a rifle that looks like a snub-nosed version of the MACO rifle, I don't know about anyone else, but I think it looks cool, is this rifle available from the equipment vendor? None of the icons look quite like it in his list and I don't want to waste all my fleets requisitions, to check out each rifle.

In the large glass cases, all are the elite fleet weapons. If you have a tier 3 engineering and fabricator, you can buy them. Or if you get invited to somebody's base who does have it, you can use their base (and your provisions) to buy them.

IIRC it is the Elite Phaser Pulsewave Assault weapon.

The weapon on the counter-top, that looks like a short MACO rifle, is not available from the vendor. It's just for show. The "Elite" weapons are the ones hanging on the wall.

That is just a tease - why would they put weapons there that we can't buy?? I think that snub nose rifle is cool too and I would like to have it

I'm guessing it's the art asset for an unused MACO Pulsewave. Maybe the upcoming reputation system will make it available.

Can anyone tell me which weapon the Andorian is holding on the New Character selection for Tactical Officers? It looks like a minigun, but the ones in game don't seem to have the same 'barrels' as that one. Oh, and the Engineering Bajoran as well. Are these Fleet weapons? Or just easter eggs for what is to come?

Is it just me or do the elite versions of weapons do less damage than the advanced versions?

Yes, although that's mostly because of having only DmgX2, instead of DmgX3 like the Advanced ones have.
