It occured to me... that with subsystem disabling being extremely good, almost to the point of being the determining factor, that I wish Engineering Team had a duration like Tac Team.

This though led me to think that if ET had a full duration like TT, that would mean less people would be running TT!

On this chain of thought, I also touched on Sci Team. What if sciteam also had a duration like TT... (and what if ST could remove Viral Matrix?) Then running ST would also be highly desireable!

It strikes me that this could be a nice way to get rid of the excessive use of TT. By giving it competition from the other teams! (I also see that some balancing may have to be done to get it to work perfectly, but just increasing the duration of ET and ST would have a big effect on the use of TT i think).

How about that? A fix without a nerf! (And addressing other problems at the same time)

People would still just tac team it up....

The issue I see is this... the premades would all take to this right away. Landing debuffs on preamdes (which out side of subnuke is the only way to score wins most of the time) would be next to impossible....

Pugs would all still cling to there tac teams only...

Gap between pugs and 2-3 guys working together gets even wider.

I like the thought, better to buff in most cases I agree... however I think something like tac team is just simply way to good for one low cost skill.

Another way to look at it... if tac team only cleared for 5 seconds and only distributed for 5 seconds... would more people take up sci and engi teams for the heal factor ?

So premades would be chaining ST? Then they'd be without shield distribute and they'd have their subsystems go on and off randomly. That doesn't sound like a smart thing to do?

As for pugs, I swear if ET could restore subsystems for the duration, it would replace TT as the major team within a week! I fought teams this weekend that kept me with 2 or 3 systems down for the whole match. It's a jungle out there now.

As it is wise premades don't all run tac team.... our sci guys don't run tac teams... when they need it they get it from an escort.... our escorts don't run sci teams or engi teams when they need it they get it.

Unless you face a team that has 5 sci ships all with VM you don't need 5 engi teams you need 1-2... and again most teams have 2-3 sci tops... so all you really need is 2-3 copies of sci team.

I won't ever expect to get a VM cleared by a pug... but ya in a premade, if one of my teammates carries the counter I am like to get it. If they are in need of a tac team... I am like to give it.

Ya I feel ya on the pug thing... I think shut down is the new flavor... what with the uber sci ship everyone is playing with.
