Why oh why won't some players heal their ships before entering STF's?!

Had one earlier - out of five players only myself, in my Rhode Island, and a Klingon Bortas were flying ships without injuries. The remainder of the team were using ships that had a minimum of two, one player having at least five.

Saying that, the player with five ship injuries must have had problems with a subspace jump console or something, as he jumped in and out of the instance like a yo-yo. One moment it was "whatshisface has joined the match" two seconds later "whatshisface has left the match". Saying that, he was useless when he did participate anyway.

Anyhow - this was possibly one of the most painful ISE instances I've ever played - Captain yo-yo notwithstanding, we also had a player in a Patrol Escort who wouldn't listen - his DPS was good to be fair, though his shields weren't and his playing hero, almost to the point that one got the impression that he thought he could solo the mission, meant that he spent a lot of time in respawn oblivion. So that left me, the Bortas and a Starcruiser who did know what he was doing (beyond not healing his injuries) as the only three effective players. And we completed it, but it took a while and the loot was junk.

The question being asked is, "How do we stop players from doing this?"

Ouch, those are the ones that are most annoying, the worst I have seen is a ship in an infected elite that have 20 critical ship injuries and wouldn't heal them even though we gave him some heals to help, at the end of the match, when he saw the injuries, guess what he said

"Do these red damages on my ship affect my performance at all?"

Infected Space Elite.

I pugged in and said, 'Hi' as usual.

I got some rare replies.

Good Start????

Now I have this miserable cold, sneezing, caughing and gagging... Eeeewwww....

Everybody agrees on the 10% rule as we are killing the entry group.

Yippeee.....

We fly over to the left and kill the cube, I buzz over to the back side and bring a node down to about 12%

We're all waiting for one other node to drop down and what happens???

I sneeze....

Somewhere in the throws and convulsions of the sneeze I hit the fire button.

I killed my node while the one we are waiting for is still at about 50%.

A couple people say nasty things to me and I try to explain that I sneezed.

Aside from that incident all went well.

Everyone told me next time keep my hand away from the fire button if I need to sneeze.

(I though it was pretty funny myself....)

Oh the irony of a sneeze causing a problem in a mission named "Infected"

Good war story!

Just gotmout of a KAGN run and despite the title of this thread i want to give massive compliments to Dew, MADDOG and Billibboo (think last one is right).

We had the sevrer crap out and DC 3 of the 5. 2 got back but 1 didn't. hat left me as the only person who'd ever been in there before so i had to direct them around the final part klilling the nodes by remote whilst running the room. Despite them getting confused a time or two we made the mission and even kicked torsk down.

Normally in this kind of situation you expect a disaster, but for once i got new people who actually listened did their job, and at the end enjoyed the run. Was a real nice change of pace .

Worst to date: a couple patches ago, over ISE, me a friend and three Feds. We're working on the first set, get the gennies to 10% and blown on time, things are going well and the probes appear.

NOW, to give some context here: I fly a BoP, which is one console short and one weapons placement short to most Escorts and two behind the Fleet Defiant, the Feds in question included some very nice Fed hardware, including a pretty decent sci ship, a carrier, and an MVAE.

A bird of Prey is, even tricked out, NOT powerful enough to draw the aggro I was drawing-I was trying to focus on the transformer (now that the gennies were dead), my friend in her Mirror Vor'cha was flying support...

and suddenly, I realize that I'm not just getting green **** shot at me, but orange as well-Yah, htat's right kids, the fleet support someone called in (or maybe their photonic ships, couldn't tell between all hte blowing up) was fighting on the wrong side.

So, now we're trying to fight probes, kill the transformer, and fight NPC fedships-simultaneously.

the little box announces we lost the optional.

Okay....

The carrier leaves. Leaving me, my friend in the M-Vorcha, the very nice (but injury ridden) Escort, and the sci-who then departs while we're fighting the other cube, after blowing the first transformer.

(and all the mobs of Nannie-spheres, now unburdened by any sort of crowd control-I switch my Boffs at the next point of me being in respawn hell).

several rounds of Those mobs alternating between taking the Fed down, then chasing me later, the Fed leaves us with six or seven spheres, a healthy transformer, probes, and the gate.

Still do-able, right?

Only, see, apparently in spite of ZERO points of Threat control on my end, the AI thinks I'm a bigger threat than the cruiser.

We've passed the 45 minute mark at this point. I've gone through a 20 pack of heals, my friend's run out, gate is nowhere NEAR down, we fall back and regroup outside the Sphere's patrol run.

See, with my BoP, I can either DPS OR do Crowd control, not both, and the Mirror Vor'cha's not that great a tanking machine, we're the last two on the map, it's her first run with that hull, My spike isn't high enough to blow spheres FAST enough to let her take the transformer without a Nannie sphere healing it, and we're both about sick of this.

It is at this point on our fleet channel that a MUCH more experienced player observed that the leaver-penalty goes away if you quit AFTER two others have.

WE make another try-just to prove the concept-and once again...we clear the current spheres, start working on the transformer, the gate spews out two mobs of probes and spheres, which gang us three-on-one each.

at this point, it is time to say "Screw this." we left.

SECOND worst was the other night over KASE-me and four feds, one got jumped and rolled by two cubes simultaneously, so a probe got past him.

Salavageable-we can at least finish...

Only someone else was so hakked that they immediately quit the mission. Down to four now, right?

ONLY THING IS...

I'm driving a bird of prey. We had a Defiant on the field, two cruisers and me.

I should NOT be running second in DPS, EVER with a Defiant and two advanced Fed cruisers.

The guy running FIRST shouldn't be the guy running his tanking/healer build.

I won't name the festival of ship injuries who bravely got himself killed every time the gate killed ME (usually in seconds after it found a less threatening target).

Six got past before the second gate went down.

SIX.

I can't move that fast, dammit-and I don't have the spike to kill spheres that fast-I run Polaron cannons, I have the right Bridge officer layout, I have good (but very few Purple) DoFFs, but my consoles are pretty much "all blue". this is a situation where I was wishing I had my old Hegh'ta, instead of the Fleet Norgh-that missing 800 or so points of hull REALLY hurt-even running Neutronium Blues MKXI and Shield Gennies in a KHG MkXII shield. I REALLY should've been running a Thissler build instead.

By the time Donatra showed, I was wishing I hadn't tossed my torpedoes for another Pol DHC MkXII. (or MkXII turret) I juust wasn't eroding things fast enough.

I also wish, looking back, that I'd combatlogged that one. It's the first time I've been in an STF where we had early departures, and still managed to finish the mission.

Kudos to the Fed Cruiser cap who was doing #1 damage though-he held an entire SIDE after hte leaver took off while I was confined to respawn hell.

I had a really good one yesterday. Not good meaning bad, no I mean it was actually good. I went with some other fleet people and we did a CSE. Everything went well, but we lost the optional due to time. I was lagging badly when we got to the third cube and then just froze. Then I was disconnected and I logged back in. I thought "Oh, I'm sure they made it. I'll just jump and grab my reward bag." So I go back in. I must have been out when they destroyed the carrier.

No reward bag for me in sight.

To say the least, I was not a happy camper.

There I was.....

I gotta say I don't believe I've seen this happen before.

I pugged into an ISE.

I said 'Hi' as usual.

No responce.

All ships hit the first group and wipe it out quick.

I type '10% rule?'

No responce.

I fly to the left and start on the cube.

I look around, where is everybody?

No ships in sight.

I find them finally, all 4 in different areas about 30k off in the distance.

I type, 'Even farmers should know that if there's nobody fighting theres no rewards.'

No responce.

I kill the cube by myself then kill one node and release the hords on the left.

I fly to the other side and kill the cube, kill one node and release the hords on the right.

I type 'Think you guys can handle this?'

No responce.

I pug out.

I have no idea what happened after that. I was just imagining that they didn't even know I left and sat there waiting for their goodies. Or maybe they argued about who was going to 'save the day.' Or maybe they just pugged out.

We may never know.
