thinking of rolling a new toon, but i don't wanna lose everything the current toon has. it has some purple gear. i'll lose all that stuff if I delete?

If you delete it, you lose it and everything still attached to it.

Thats what delete means. the character is gone...

if anything is account bound or not bound then put it in your account bank or mail it.

although i suspect its all bound, and yes it will go.

you can always buy an extra character slot(s) and just keep the character and make a new one.

yeah, that's what I thought. what about selling off everything bound and mailing those credit to another. didn't seem able to enter creds into account bank

You cant mail Energy Credits, you would have to get someone to hold them for you till you make your new character.

Your best bet is probably saving up some Dilithium, trading it for Zen on the exchange and then buying yourself some more character slots.

got some slots, but I was hoping to make use of what's already there. guess I'll sell off everything and go on a shopping spree and put that in the acc't bank

That's one solution. What I usually do is place anything not bound or account bound in the account bank (sensible stuff... no ships batteries or anything else easily replaceable), sell the rest then drop the EC in the account bank... then "retire" the character with honors (noone get's deleted... they retire to a well earned life of leisure heheheh). I've retired and started many ID's like this.
