With that reasoning, why not just put the item on the C-store and pay direct Zen for it, rather than having to obtain Zen, then buy Lobi Crystals and then buy the item.

One thing I would like to see is the the ability to trade lockboxes for Dilithium Ore. One Dilithium Ore would be fine, as common as lockboxes are... That way, everything is actually worth something.

Ignore joxer... he was posting some BS about how cryptic was losing money because people could e-mail, trade, share, and sell doffs in-game freely.

sirsitsalot, because they are directly promoting and pushing the entire lockbox system. It takes it a step beyond the paid store.

The reason you cannot get direct lobi is because they WANT you to use the lockboxes. Same reason Las Vegas casinos want you to pull the lever arm on the slot machine. Even if there's a guaranteed payout they want to get you hooked. It's all marketting and ploys. That is why you won't see paid lobi crystals anytime soon.

Well opening boxes in mass will give you an average of 20 Zen per lobi crystal. I guess it's cryptic's way of managing sticker shock for such a niche game.

Probably the reason you don't see that is because Lobi ends up being cheaper in lock boxes than through a flat out exchange rate. In fact, what you are doing with the master key is essentially what you are suggesting, purchasing an allotment of Lobi (with a little prize thrown into the box as well).

Why? If I can get a master key for 125 zen, and get at least 2 lobi and up to 15, then the exchange rate would need to be an average of 5-8, else there would be no reason to buy lobi for zen, as i'd get more lobi for zen continuing to buy keys, then exchange 100 zen for 1 lobi.

The actual Lobi data is.....

The minimum Lobi per Lockbox is 4, the max is 50.

125 zen = 4 lobi = 31.25 zen per 1 lobi

So if you never got a bonus lobi payout from a lockbox.....

800 lobi ship = 800 x 31.25 = 25000 zen

just an FYI
