A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
...and no more after that. I'm not counting lockbox ships though with this. I also don't count small craft, since those are mostly used in only a few things. Anyways, here's why:
Feds have ships that can do any role. They have 'pure' ships that basically serve one function and no other (like the Defiant, which does lots of pew pew, and little else). Then they have more hybrid ships as well. Generally I consider this at least a vessel of one type, with a Lt. Cmdr slot of a different class on it. Along with that, they also have the 'versatile' classes, which have a Cdmr of one class, but have a Lt. Cmdr and Ensign universal.
Pure Fed escort: Defiant-R
Engineering Fed Escort: Armitage
Science Fed Escort: Multi-Vector
Versatile Fed Escort: Chimera (1000 Day vets and lifers only, but it counts I feel)
Pure Fed sci ship: Voyager-R
Tactical Fed sci ship: Fleet Science Vessel Retrofit (only one I found)
Engineering Fed sci ship: Nebula-R and D'kyr
Versatile Fed sci ship: Vesta variants (to be released soon)
So...with one exception, the Fed side has a ship for virtually any role now, regardless of anything else. And I am not including lockbox ships, and only one Fleet ship.
As for not including the Odyssey, despite it's more science-leaning capabilities, I didn't do that because it IS universal slots, you don't have to slot engineering, but you don't have to slot sci or tac if you don't want to. There is no Fed cruiser with a Lt. Cmdr Sci.
My point from all this, is once the Fed side does have a cruiser with a Lt. Cmdr science slot, they won't need anymore ships.
Now I doubt I'll be changing anything, just bringing up a point of just how many ships the Fed side does have, and they really have few 'niche' roles left to fill. The only thing they don't have is a pure Universal ship, and I hope that never happens.
Well feds get everything and kdf doesn't get nothing...don't even have a pure science ship except for a c store ship which got the shaft on because of no fleet version because of some odd flimsy excuse.

Agreed. That is part of the reason why I made this thread.
The main part is the fact that there is a ship for nearly every niche now in the game on the Fed side, short of that cruiser with a Lt. Cmdr science.
I'd also like to point out that now the Federation side has at least two ships of each main class with 5 consoles in one area:

Well, technically the Vo'Quv is a science vessel, and 1-2 other ship types. . .but they're effectively cruisers (meaning they have trouble using sci skills that require you to be aimed at the target), and just aren't optimal sci ships.

As well the VoQ also lacks the inherent Science Vesel trait of Sensor Analysis.
So many KDF players think I am anti-KDF but it's simplely not true - I would love for them to make a Vor'cha style sci ship for the KDF side. I have looked over all end-game KDF ships at least a dozen times trying to find one that I like(or trying to convince myself that I could use it) But the fact is there is nothing there that interests me look wise. I like the Kafri stats and layout but it's just way too frankenstein for me.
At the end of the day after looking through what is there I am happy with the free heavy Bop I got at lvl 40 for my toons - that is the sad part - that the free ship is one of the best.
I think this Klingon rant is in the wrong section? I think it should be in Klingon Gamplay section.
Everyone already knows the next ship will be a Fed ship. Mr Stahl has clearly said making a Klingon ship for the C-store is NOT "economically viable".
This isn't so much about a lack of Klingon ships, regardless of what might've been posted by me. It's more about how the Feds have SO many ships, they nearly have a ship for virtually any role you could possibly want to have regardless of anything else.
