While I have only played a few of the new missions on Normal, the rate of rewarding marks seems low compared to the amount you need for each tier to unlock. I got 24 Romulan marks for one mission - I would have to play it another 208 times to unlock Tier I rewards. In the old system you got salvage and encrypted data chips which let you buy rewards much sooner, although they were probably a lesser quality.

I'm with you. And add to that the fact that since I never got lucky in any of the ground STF I never got any of the Eilite stuff and therefore have never unlocked the Elite Honour Guard costume. So this means that I will have to grind Borg first. Really annoying.

Only did 1 Romulan team mission so far (azure rescue) and got 13 romulan marks. Seeing as how you're limited to USING only 26 marks every 40 hours with the initial missions, you've only got to run 1-2 per day before you're just accumulating marks you can't use. Don't see how that's too slow a rate, personally. The bigger problem is the zero Omega marks I got for running the Hive Space, but that's a clear bug

Yeah, I've built a huge backlog of both marks approaching tier 2 with all the one-time store unlocks done. The two day gating on everything makes grinding pretty pointless except to build a backlog, one round of patrols and the four main dailies on New Romulus and you've more than filled both slots.

Not everyone likes to "Grind Dailies". they often hate the ground combat in STO. Thta was never a issue as even with the grindage changes to everything, you still had STF"s do do if that was your thing.

It seems we are being steered to what little content that we get, whether it is fun or not. Personally, while i like the new Romulus ground map, i can not stand the ground mechanics in this game so i could always get what i need from STF's. I also detest so called "Dailies", lets face it, they are more like "1000" time required missions

Well it's too early to tell for me since I haven't unlocked anything (they really should have lowered or eliminated the timers on tribble projects), but one STF was more than enough to start the first two projects and I did the next 2 STFs for fun before having to go to sleep and have a hundred marks. I imagine the higher tiers will require a few dozen STFs, but that's not really a problem for me since I play STFs because I enjoy them.

Did some figures on the OP's numbers, and something's not adding up.

26 marks in two rounds for tier 1 (total 52)

Then 60 for each of 3 one-time unlocks
60 for the hangar pet
10 for each of two consumables

Not strictly included in the description in the post is the grind through tier 1, is the 8200 xp left to grind at this point, assuming the least efficient method (double-running 200 xp unlocks and then switching to 2000/800 grinds, rather than running 2000/200) this is 3 rounds of 30 marks.

Total is 402 marks, or 17 runs of the mission he did (which I already pointed out is an inefficient option, spread over 8 project cycles, meaning 16 days. Slightly more than one run per day average - it would be higher at the peak point (needing 3 per day for 4 days), but counter balanced over the rest of the days. This is also the least efficient path, skipping poor rewards (the consumables, the hanger for most ships - and even the ones that can use it would be better off with most any dilithium store fighter than these equivalent to EC store fighters), and running a better project schedule brings this down to 322 marks over 12 days - similarly just over 1 run/day but with a lower spike and shorter total time.

Only point at which the OP's numbers become remotely true are on mk XII sets that unlock at tiers 4 and 5, which would take 90 runs for a full set (only on the order of 30-40 runs from more efficient mark sources) but will be 35+ project cycles in the future.
