So I like it, really fun to throw one on the back of a cruiser. If you have a dual beam boat I can see putting several on the back as possible.

However can it be made to fire from the phaser or turret hardpoints? It looks really odd to see it slicing through the saucer or rear nacelles of your ship. Its like a slightly structurally confused cadet decided to take the fight to the enemy from inside the storage closet near the defector dish. I just dont see that being good for the load bearing parts of the ship.

Btw, what is its fire rate ? Is it affected by beam abilities and such ? We lack info about this

Sosmone asked soem of this the other day. No beam abilities, so for a serious beam user it's bassiclly usless, for torp boats looking to get 360 degree subsystem targeting it's usless. Bassiclly a few niche builds will use it and everyone else will avoid it for the peice of junk it is.

its a turret as far as I can tell but not affected by CRF CSV. It does not work with target subsystems and I've heard BO and such are no go as well. So laser shooty thing you put on a rear weapon slot and then fire and forget.

Rather decent on NPC ships really good on structures and probably give or take vs people.
It tends to be higher dps than rear turrets if your firing against a bare hull, and considerably less against shields. Tetryon glider works with it. I have not had a test target to really get to know how it applies damage(one big sum ore in several ticks ect). Have not seen the set bonus buff on me yet but havent really been watching for it(stated 2.5%chance).

now back to it shooting from the hallway in front of main engineering?

Wish it could at least act as proper 360 beam Oh well, wish sometimes Cryptic would add something useful for a change...

Could see Beam Boats using the Escort Configuration now. This could make the Regent quite an interesting ship to fly.

OMG! the dps on that thing is terrible, barely 50% more dps than a standard turret, when you add console and skill like canon:Rapid fire then a standard turret will end up doing the same if not more dammage versus hull, and I am not even talking about shield, that's terrible, just terrible

I love the idea of beam turret,s they certainly should already exist, but this is crap.

Anyway thanks a lot for that screenshot, that's really nice of you to think about people who don't have access to the rep rewards.

PS: I suppose you wouldn't have screen shot of the plasma torpedoes or some rumulan reward like the scorpion fighters?

Bassiclly sounds like damage of a turret with damage type of a torpedo, aka worst possibble combination. i was at least expecting above average levels of DPS if it didn't work with beam skills.

I see it as a way to handle a bit of power brownout on cannon cruisers and probably a beastly dual beam cruiser build item.

From using it vs NPCs its as good as or better to have on the rear than a MK XII borg antiproton turret. Reason being that NPCs are basically very easy to flatten a shield facing on then you have to chew through their mas of HP, Which this turret does nicely. Yes CRF, CSV do increase turrets up to its dps range. On a sci or escort probably about equal for the most part on a cruiser with 8 weapons having one not running at double rate really helps the power drain and improves the dps of the main fore cannons which are what really matters.
Also further playing revealed that it deals damage in 4 bursts over its firing cycle.

So its not a terrible item its just not the must have that the assimilated console is for dps basically.

For completeness again comparison between the romulan turrets I have available(but am to broke on dil to buy and try)
