Harrison Ford is on record to come back to play Han, IF he gets a dead role to play. Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher might be up for playing there roles too. It all depends on the story Disney is working on, and how far along they will take the story after the Jedi film. Even if it's only flash backs, would you like to see these 3 play a part in the next film?

IMO I think they should be there, and even if it's just this one film, it's a great way to kick it all off again.

Honestly it would be cool but Id rather they just recast them. Harrison looks as old as time and carrie has not aged well.

I know we should probably not place too much emphasis on looks but id rather remember them as there fresh faced selves for such iconic characters.

I wouldn't worry about their looks, after all look what Disney did to Jeff Bridges in TRON: Legacy. They made him look tons young in the Clu role, so why can't they do the same with in Star Wars. But really why should they make them younger, they can do standard makeup on them, and all 3 will look just fine on the big screen.

If the original actors do reprise their roles, I would hope the movie time frame is adjusted accordingly. Aside from the hatchet job the ENT finale was, I thought it was rather comical to have the same actors playing Riker and Troi when they were quite obviously 20 years older. When Riker said something to the effect of "well, I guess now I need to go tell Captain Picard about the phase cloak" I nearly fell out laughing.

Really? Did you just get stung by a bee or something? Because when I saw you tell Picard about the phase cloak, you were ahem, less plump.

Porthos is not amused.

I'd rather not see another Star Wars movie after the mess that was made with the prequels and the direction the EU has taken since Phantom Menace came out.

I was thinking, with Mr Ford wanting a dead part in the next film, why not do it like this:

Peace is finally known for years, after the last bits of the failed Galactic Empire are rooted out, and a new government takes shape. Leia is named Chancellor, Han is married to her, and they had twins earlier. Who are now older live about 18 or in the 20s. One follows the political life of their mother, and the other one is a little wild, and takes after Han. Mainly getting into trouble a few times, and doesn't like to just sit around.

Ok a new enemy comes around, maybe a dark Jedi that was trained by Vader or the Empire. This Dark Jedi wa sin hiding after the rebells finish rounding up the last of the old Empire, and waits for a chance to go after the leadership. That being Leia and her followers.

So lets say it's a the Dark Jedi plays the role of the Rebells, and leads his own small army against the government, and when he comes after Leia Han gets killed saving her. This could setup the 1st movie to give a back story to why one of the Children of Han and Leia goes after this foe, and they are told to seek out Luke, who can teach them how to beat this Dark Knight.

To make it deeper, you can have the Dark Knight's forces part of a large invasion force, and they were used to test the New governments ablity to defend itself.

Not saying this is what they should do, but it's something that might work to setup the Death of Han Solo. Something like this at the begining of the next film, might be the way to go. Say make it like 10 to 15 minutes into the film. Might be best seeing how Mr Ford wants Han to die, so let him go out on his feet.

What do you guys think about that idea?

IIRC, Lucas had script treatments ready to go for at least three more films post RotJ. From the article I read on the buyout, those were sold to Disney as well as everything else (still kinda in wtf mode that ILM went to Disney as well).

So I'm reasonably sure that the story line for 7-9 has already been figured out and it's just left to us to wait until the movies actually come out.

I kinda agree, if they do appear i hope its in a small dose, a nod to them, or passing of the baton in a ways,..

On a side note, I sincerely hope they dont revive the emperor for the villain, i would never be able to take him seriously after 'Something Something Darkside' Family Guy ^^, and there is a rich plethora of content ripe to pick from in the extended universe

Come to think of it, i kinda hope its Jedi-light too, there was too much emphasis on fancy-shmancy sword play and force heebyjeebies in the prequels for my tastes, star wars was always about the space for me

Na, 'let go' of the past.

Disney owns it all now (except the EU), best to reboot the entire mess- remake ALL 6 episodes in a kid friendly fashion, make tons of money without hiring new writers, build new theme rides for their parks. That should buy them a few years to figure out how to continue the story without cheesing off all the original fans and destroying our memories.
