Hate to say this, but this is probably going to end up the same way the defiant bridge pack did. For those of you not familiar with this bridge pack, first off don't buy it. It's an awesome defiant class like bridge, all with different lighting variations, etc. However the carpets do not load properly, for example, the vivid bridge is supposed to have red/black carpet, another of the variations is black/blue. The problem is there is a texture load error so all of the bridges load with the same two tone beige carpet that looks more like a placeholder than an actual texture.

There were a number of us that had bought the bridge pack (it was a c-store pack) that were placing bug tickets and posting on the forums. At first we were getting the typical copy n paste responses from CS that had nothing to do with the problem. Then finally after I think it was the 6th bug ticket I finally got someone asking for screenshots so they could pass it on to the dev team. Of course it never went further than that, they closed the bug ticket and never responded to any more tickets about it since then to any of us. Neither did we ever get any type of response on the forums either.

I hate to say it dude but the people telling you that now that they got your money for it they won't fix it, yeah their kinda right on this one.

CapnLogan quit out of pure frustration between all the controversy with the "Design the Next Enterprise" contest and the constant nitpicking of cosmetic problems as "serious bugs that should have never gone live".

Not to sound too snarky, but in the grand scheme of ship design, many of these issues are minor. Window color, minor shape issues (deflectors, etc.), even weapons hardpoints are low on the totem pole. When the sole ship designer (at the time) constantly get berated every time he was on the forums about windows or escape pod locations or when the Ambassador class was ever going to get launched, it took its toll. Especially when a ship might not look right because one is trying to keep the poly count at a reasonable level, or to make it fit with interchangeable ship parts, etc.

Believe me, I'm irked by no tbeing able to change the weapons used by my MVAE pets (more of a tech issue than ship art, by the way), or every time I put my MVAE back together, when it comes up with stock parts that magically look like my ship should when everything comes together (again, more tech than ship art, but still). I guess I should /bug that more. Speaking of which:

Best you can do is post about it, but not in a demeaning way, because that will probably just make the people you need to convince about this issue cynical towards fixing it. Also, /bug it, and /bug it some more.

But Obsidius, you say:

GMs and devs never reply to bug reports, but they do get them. Priority will probably be increased by the number of reports they see. That's not to endorse spamming of the /bug system, however.

For that matter, Devs and GMs aren't required to respond to anything on the forums. It doesn't mean they don't read the forums. There's no correlation between reading and responding. It also doesn't mean they're not aware of your problems, but they don't dictate putting fixes on the schedule, or prioritizing the schedule.

Also, ship artists don't own ships carte blanche. As mentioned above, some issues are Tech issues, which are handled by programmers, and not artists. And I imagine their schedule is even more strict than the artists' schedules.

They aren't required to respond, but as a paying customer (and I do pay), I am perfectly within my rights to keep this issue on the forums as long as I'm not rude or disrespectful. Neither of which, have I been.

I also won't stop posting about it. If you don't want to hear it, don't click on the topic. /grin

Congratulations, you're a paying customer. Get in line with everyone else. Everyone has an issue with the the game, and some are more important than windows on a skin. That's not to say that it isn't an issue (I'd be irked by a cosmetic issue such as this), it just isn't one that affects many players, that players who are affected take much issue with, or improves the quality of life for most players.

I mean, I've got the Maelstrom skin, and that has bloody escape pods right underneath the warp nacels... how are they supposed to launch safely in the case of disaster? By ramming right into the Bussard collectors? But I'm not going on about that like it's the biggest deal in the game. Annoying? Yep. Game-breaking? Hardly.

Anyway, being a paying customer doesn't entitle you to anything more than any other paying customers. Hrm, I need to add that to the rules. It's such an overused bit of entitlement commonly seen in many MMOs.

Ahh, but I am entitled to submitting bug reports and posting on the forum. Until I get rude and insult, everything I've posted follows the rules and IS part of my rights. I'm also not going to argue with you about it.

Have a nice day.

Now back to the Venture Saucer and it's windows.

Of course you are. My only issue was the tone. Maybe make it say something about the ship *we* bought a year ago, since, you know, you're certainly not the only guy who bought the Venture skin. Makes it more appealing to the masses;, makes it more palatable to being taken with a grain of salt be artists or developers; makes it sound less selfish. Just my 2 ECs.

Carry on.

That, I agree with you about. Unfortunately I didn't start this particular thread. /shrug. I've just tried to keep it going. The last one I started was just titled 'Venture Saucer missing windows' and it went away pretty quickly.

Contacting the BBB will at least get you an answer. It may not be something you want to hear but at the very least, you will get an answer.

There's nothing to be gained by threatening anyone with the BBB. The Galaxy X/Venture is fully functional. It's a fun ship to fly and in most cases very awesome looking. Besides an off center cannon/dreadnought additions on the Galaxy Saucer and the missing windows on the Venture Saucer, it's - in my opinion - one of the better looking ships in the game.

Like I've mentioned before - remodeling the Galaxy Saucer would be VERY time intensive. Several hours at the bare minimum. Mirroring windows on the Venture would be at most a fifteen minute job.

I would like to see the Venture saucer fixed. I'll keep pestering - politely - to have the Venture saucer fixed. However I'm not going to threaten or harass the people who make and maintain a game I enjoy very much.

I have several "issues" aswell not that i'm angry or leaving the game anytime soon but
for example when the atrox carrier came out i was really hoping for a nice bridge like the odyssey which is btw an awesome bridge.

The atrox carrier has a simple standard bridge
today as a carrier i'm using a tholian recluse carrier +1 console slot, a strange but kinda awesome bridge and a commander universal slot all of that and payed virtual money for it

the atrox carrier i bought it for 25$ now that ship looks unfinished to me

i don't wanna hijack your thread here, what i wanna say is i hope they fix the issue your having with your ship because it can be a let down even the simple of things
