Different from STO in that its a combat/trading sim, but none the less very interesting looking "Star Citizen" is still at least a year away.
It's made by the same guys who gave you the brilliant Freelancer, Privateer and Wing Commander series and looks set to combine all of the best bits of each.
Initially crowdfunded with a goal of attaining 2mill in order to get the project financed they quickly exceeded that and have reached nearly 3mill!
I'm sure we all wish them the best of luck with its development!
been watching it's progress for a bit. the dynamics of the game just from the few videos look incredible (thrusters yay) doubt that there will be any type of tab target since you have ability to damage external hull systems individually, another bonus, though lockons for missiles would still be included of the guided variety. no doubt there will be dumb fire versions as well.
keep hoping egosoft/deepsilver will turn their x: universe into an mmo, this might be as close as it gets though.
