Those laugh me to tears every time. And I needed that laugh just now to help calm my Hitler rage.

Shame on you Captain Stahl for inspiring so many different versions of Hitler Rage videos in three years.

I agree in that the player numbers are, for the most part, semi-accurate enough so that when someone queues for an event it pops "reasonably close" to the appropriate time...

The only thing that is semi-misleading in these counts is when you have a "stalled on 6 queue", with 3 soloists waiting in front of a semi-premade of 3, and the game won't make soloist #3 wait for the next group until two more soloists (or a twin-pack) pops in and fires off the 3 soloists first...

On that note, I "dislike" average wait as it's all too easy to "go over" the average wait. Remember, to truly be "average", 1/2 the people need to be waiting more than the indicated time... and remember human nature, we all tend to think "it says average wait of 35 minutes, I've waited 40, this system is broken/lying".

If you're gonna go with times, then I'd go "maximum time", ie, how long from when the first guy "started" the queue till he got into that mission - so that if it takes Joe 1 hour from queue-formation till he's playing that mission, that's what the world sees - this way, we know a little better if we're gonna be playing "soon" or "soon 'tm' ".

Honestly, both would work - have a "wait time indicator" to give us an idea of how often the queue in question pops, and an "waiting player count" (as inaccurate as it may be but it's been functional enough for now) to know if the mission is closer to popping than we think...

---p.s. I like the idea of adding "more/better" reasons to play these "dead" queues, maybe having fleet marks in SB 24 or other places might get people back into them instead of keeping them on "white consoles" or whatever it pays out right now...

Still at it. CBS "restrictions" fell by wayside with freebie Breen. Time to re-examine ENT and ToS at tier 5, repurpose the Connie into Sci and rebuild an Akira escort into the "NX". 6 "eras", spread evenly over all the classes...

I just haven't been able to create a situation where the result is meaningfully different than what the queued number and a look at the Join Existing lists suggest is expected. It's possible to be reliably useful without being accurate. It doesn't appear to be inaccurate, but even if it is, it's still reliably useful.

And no matter what, no manipulation of UI is going to get me doing those missions I don't presently bother with. There's not gonna be any "Well, there's no way of knowing, so I might as well try one of these others." You will give me what I want, or I will take nothing.
THIS.... oh so much THIS...

Keeping players guessing as to how soon a Que will pop, is comparable to waiting for a Real Person to answer ones phone call with the cable company...

Most folks just won't bother.

The previous system may not have been all that accurate (though some would disagree), but at the very least, it gave a much better Visual Cue than a Tiny Little Clock that with a quick glance holds Absolutely No Information at all.

LESS IS NOT, MORE...

Oh, and Hitler is calling.... Best not to keep him waiting...

Some people just don't seem to understand that me and some players will simply NEVER queue for events that have more than 2 minutes Average Wait.

When i want to join a STF, i want to join it NOW. I don't have time to log in the game to then start waiting. If i start waiting then odds are that i am gonna start doing something else and when the queue finally calsl me i will just cancel because i am in the middle of something else.

That is why queue numbers are important, it helped show me where i was likely to play RIGHT AWAY if i queued. Especially since we have a limited numbers of queues that we can join, i would be a moron to go waste my 3 queue slots into queues that are empty forever like Romulan Temple and such...

I know Cryptic want to hide these numbers on purpose just to hide what effects season 7 will have on previously active queues ( like Ground STFs ) which will become empty from PUG players imho.

Average Wait time is BS. Anyone who have used PvP queues in STO knows it is BS when you see an average 10 minute wait on Ground Assault Fed vs Kling. You know the queue might not start at all during the WHOLE day.

So let's just cut the BS. Whatever Cryptic has in mind by removing the player numbers, it will not service the players AT ALL.

Seeing number of people in Queue + Limit of 3 active Queues works

Not seeing number of people in Queue + Unlimited active Queues allowed works

Not seeing number of people in Queue + Limit of 3 active Queue's doesn't work

Bottom line Remove Limit of Active Queues if you want this to work
I'll stop kicking that horse when the bugs fixed. Until then as a paying consumer, I will voice my opinion.

Has anyone else noticed that when the community starts to get into an uproar about a change that is so obviously retarded, that Cryptic clams up? We've not heard one word from anyone in about 8 pages of this thread now. This seems to happen a LOT when Crytpic makes a massive screwball of a change like this. They get pushback on their change, and they stop responding, hoping the problem will go away on it's own.

At least that's how I see it.

Hi Brandon,

I've had jobs all my life. One thing that my jobs have taught me is that the customer is always right. Make sure to pass that along to your team as well. Not showing who is waiting to play on the list is obviously not a popular choice.

This is a good post. The first thing I thought when I saw the queues were changing is: "Will they let us queue for as many as we want?"

I see it as 10 pages in 24 hours is a lot of stuff to take in, and hopefully they're working rather than reading. Or maybe they're deciding what action to take.
