So I didn't get to try out STFs on Tribble during the testing of S7. How do Optionals work now? Are there even any optionals? Are the STFs going to still be a DPS race to get the optional? Kind of curious about how this is going to work.

There will be some dilithium and no optional loot .That means no more deflectors or rare loot which can be turned into ec.

Sure wish I could sell, or donate all the spare proto drops I have to the community instead of throwing it into scrap heap for dilithium.

Makes me sad to see good gear wasted.

Seems like the only place to get good drops any more will be to win the fleet actions, which specifically discourages you from helping your teammates or playing any kind of support role. Good for the few truly skilled players, sucks for everyone else.

The problem is that for getting first place and therefor 2 purples in the fleet actions, you have to do the most damage.

Lucky for me, 90% of the playerbase is so awful bad, that it will be easy to get the loot xD

I don't know - the prototype loot drops, particularly the Deflector/Shield/Engines were never reliable. I do actually prefer the new system - I don't need any part of the Omega/Maco set but the Honor Guard set is supposedly useable now and will be interesting to see how that performs on a Starfleet ship.
