When I log in now I quickly become tired and irritable. I don't know how to make any
dilithium anymore. I tried the Gorn wrapper and I can't get the mineral samples to make it complete. With a 30 minute timer I would have to spend an hour or more just to get that 1440. I asked in zone chat in SFA for advice and just got in an argument with somebody trying to make fun of me for wanting "Easy" dil.

My starbase is Stahled out. When I think of what I could do last season compared to now
I don't want to keep playing. My alts were effectively made useless. I wasn't even farming
dilithium for Z points, it was all going into projects.

I used to enjoy switching characters for differing styles of game play, now I can barely max my main character.

If I promise not to use dil for z-points will you please give me my ability to farm it back?? Using alts to work around the 8k cap was the only way I could feel empowered as a solo player. It would have been many, many months before I ran out of things to work on even at that previously higher rate of dil income. I spent many extra hours in game to achieve my goals. Now I'm befuddled and want to log out after a few minutes.

As an example...
I am part of a pretty small fleet (only about 20 active players). We just picked up a new member last week, working his way up from Captain to Vice Admiral. He did that in about a week and a half. We crafted new equipment for him and let him have the pick of what was in fleet storage. To outfit 1 player drained all the DIL I had on my crafter, plus a couple other characters. All our resources have been sunk into the starbase, which has come to a screeching halt now that DIL is impossible to come by. No, Cryptic, I'm not going to buy any more Zen. All you do is find new ways to reach into my wallet and take it.

Counter offer Stahl..., we understand you have to comply to your paymasters at PW. We get it. But this "fix" is a dirty lie that only set the system back again. Put gear rewards back into STF's and endgame content. Put the original amounts of dilithium back into all the events the way it was before. That means 1440 dilithium back into Fleet Actions. That means 1100 dilithium back into Elite STF's. EVERYTHING back to the way it was before. Leave the salvage and tech out to satisfy your Perfect World taskmaster's demand to cinch up dilithium a bit. Leave the instant foundry created missions out of the game, we as a player base can admit that we were cheating the system in that respect. Cancel the dilithium cost for the general recruitment assignment. You get to tighten your belt on dilithium reasonably. We get our game back and the ability to actually play it. You don't do this for us, your game dies in season 7. A dreadful shame since the new reputation system and endgame content is really awesome. A terrible waste for all the work that went into making this release the best you've all come out with yet.

This is the voice of your player base. It may sound loud in your ear now. Leave things the way they are and the annoying sounds of our complaints will grow ever quieter as we all walk out the door. I don't need to remind you that this is the holiday season and prime time for new and more interesting games that are being released. Games that aren't centered on abusing their player base. This isn't a threat. It's just the reality of economy. When a product becomes more hassle than enjoyment..., well consumers tend to find new products. Don't make the mistake of figuring us for dupes. We may love Star Trek more than other genres. But most of us don't love the genre enough to allow you to cripple our gameplay.

To everyone - slow down and back off (some)...

Listen to the man, even a little. He said, for whatever reason, that a goal of some of these changes is to make the game like most every other MMO out there, in which outfitting a "main" toon is a multi-month project.

He also claims that the "value" of the recruitment DOff pack (nigh free) does not match up with the value of the C-store pack, or even the mini-packs from lockboxes...

What bugs me in all this is the perceived hypocrisy. They "price" a high-end STF set at 30 days of Dil farming, but the earnings rate is (was) geared for 4+ hours/day of nothing but dil farming. Especially in a world where "average" players only play 3.5 hours/day.

Devs want to encourage the playing of varied types of content - does help the grindy feeling go away some. However, the kneejerk reaction to our complaints puts E-STFs back front-and-center as the most rewarding method of Dil farming, and nothing else even comes close, and they want to tie up all our time in 3 months with dil farming, not fleet mark acquisition, not getting other gear for our toons, nothing but farming to kit out our toon.

The wait of 3-4 days between one free DOff packs is not comprable to the instant value of getting (potentially multiple) DOff pack(s) off the C-store for $2.75 each. No, they need to make it longer between packs and add a Dilithium cost. Yet, every other DOff recruitment out there is still free, even though they only give 1-2 DOffs per mission...

Nevermind the pure hypocrisy of trying to vary content, by shoehorning us into "Cryptic Select Missions"...

You gave us some of your overall plans. Thank you for that. Next time, make your actions back up what you've laid out in plans...

Still at it. CBS "restrictions" fell by wayside with freebie Breen. Time to re-examine ENT and ToS at tier 5, repurpose the Connie into Sci and rebuild an Akira escort into the "NX". 6 "eras", spread evenly over all the classes...

He overestimates the caliber of STO. It's a AA game, at best. And does not have the content level of it's peers. His quest to stretch out gear acquisition with empty artificiality is doomed to failure. Stahl's stint at Zynga made him a worse person to be in the gaming industry, not a better one. There's a reason why Zynga is hated by gamers, and now he's brought that trash to STO.

Considering the N Processor mission went from 15k to 1k at the same time... why are you guys all happy with this change.

It now means you can spam them and make a ton of D I guess if you want to run 15 missions... cause the new system we could have ran 5 started a mission and moved on....

This is as bad as when they fixed the danubes by turning the mass tractor into spam tractor. lol

I think they just try everything for we pay more, it just that if they continue like that they will kill what was STO.

What they don't (or don't want) understand is what happen now. I mean what they did about dil wasn't bad, ok we farm less dil but that not the true problem, the problem is now we need dil for everything in the game. And that mean we need more and more dil but they give us less and less way to have dil.

Just for exemple for people who don't have too much time to play and don't want farm before with STF in elite i win 1400 dil plus all the proto and other thing ( i don't remember the name in english) i can seel for dil, the most of time with one STF elite i did 3800 dil.

For people don't want farm that was great because we could focus time on play with friend and not farm.

Now i have to farm for dil and reputation and EC too because we loot nothing for make EC, that mean just farm and farm and farm.

For be honest i don't think i will continue this game even if i loved it.

Sorry for my english.

I tend to agree. If they truely want the players to paly more content, add stuff to it. Make dilithium drop in all quest, a couple hundred here and there. Make more end game content drop mk xi purples or mk xii. Give us options. These changes just force players to grind a handful of quest over and over.

This, more than anything else. For some of us it's not even really so much that we're hardcore trek fans, it's more that we've invested money into this game and don't want to feel like we've wasted it, which at least for me is what I'm feeling since S7 hit. What do people do when they feel like they've wasted their money? They leave, don't look back, and spread the word that this is a raw deal and you shouldn't spend anything on it. Especially when it's happening right before the holiday season when a lot of people are going to be having a lot of gift money to spend, and will take it elsewhere.
