Why dont we have randomly appearing very cool items with these vendors (e.g. Mk12 purple consoles, weapons)?

I don't mind having a ridiculously high asking price for the items (dils, fleet creds, a combination of both, etc).

It just creates some sort of excitement when you see a really cool item being on sale but its so expensive that you'd think twice about getting it.

Make it random too, so you need to buy it at the spur of the moment because when you come back later, the item may be gone!!

Right now, the deal being offered from these vendors are not even worth looking at...

Any thoughts guys?

I take it you've seen "negotiate a deal" DOff assignments, right?

I think the way to do this best is to integrate DOff play with regular play.

Let Captains have DOff traits and perform real time DOff interactions in dialogue.

You have dialogue buttons with the DOff pie chart displayed off to the right, based on what traits your Captain has.

Maybe have additional dialogue traits added to your Captain by ranking up DOff categories.

Good and interesting idea to add-on, makes "negotiating" with the vendor an interactive one

I really like the idea of *actually* negotiating a deal. Have a Diplomacy interaction (and for goodness' sake, give a bonus to captains with Telepathy/Empathy! It serves almost no purpose right now...wel, okay, the passive boosts are useful, but you know what I mean), figure out how to wheel and deal the price down. Maybe this vendor responds well to being threatened, but that one you have to butter up...or maybe if you throw in that rifle you've got in your inventory, he'll knock down the price a bit (more than selling the rile outright, less than you'd get on the exchange...but it's a one time deal, so don't expect to get it again!)
