Don't know if this will help at all...

I'll get maybe 40%, 45% through the loading screen when I get BSOD'd.
I'm running dual Nvidia Geforce GTX 295's, but not in SLI. I've tried the latest release and beta drivers. Dxdiag doesn't show anything but using BlueScreenView, the Windows dump files all have these three drivers highlighted (followed by address in stack)

dxgkrnl.sys (+5d000)
dxgmms1.sys (+ff07)
nvlddmkm.sys (+14ba88)

BSV says for each dump file that dxgkrnl.sys is responsible for the crash, however, the BSOD mentions nvlddmkm.sys.

Only just started playing yesterday and phaser wasn't working properly, when I tried again today it was working fine until I finished the tutorial on the Khitomer, now I keep getting the BSOD.

Specs are almost identical to OP.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Service Pack 1

Manufacturer: Acer
Model: Aspire X3950
Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU 530
@2.93GHz 2.93 GHz
Installed Memory: 4.00 GB

System Type 64-bit Operating System

Intel Integrated HD Graphics

Also, I'm running the game through Steam, if that helps.

I installed the following Drivers:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/conf...ws+7+(64-bit)*

I am no longer experiencing any issues, everything is running very well. I don't know if this will help others, but It helped me, so I figured I'd post it.

Is it safe?, I mean it doesn't cause any viruses does it?

Well, it's on the Intel site, so It shouldn't. It helped me out just fine.

This did not work for me. Still crashing with blue screen.

After nearly a week of this happening I've about had enough with STO.

for a long time i was getting crashing to windows and blue screens but one of the patches that said fixed an issue that cause some players to crash.

fixed my problems maybe with season 7 the bug came back.

got no help in forums and was told me machine sucks but if it can handle cyrsis on max setting it can handle little sto

Sometimes these kind of DXGI errors are a result of overheating. Some things to try:

If it's a laptop there could be an accumulation of dust, blast the vents of the laptop with compressed air to clear the blockage and try again.

Desktop, increase the fan speed.

Nvidia, Manage 3D settings, set to performance.

DEV info here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/libr...DEVICE_REMOVED

Seems some new textures are pushing Intel cards too far, the BSOD is a result of the computer shutting down to prevent physical damage to the device, the new texture settings are increasing the heat generation and the subsequent heat dissipation is not fast enough, especially on blocked up laptops.

hope that helps, it cured my son's laptop anyway.
