so i just hit t-1 rep in both tracts of the new reputation system and im trying to decide which passives to pick and due to the fact that once you pick your skills there seems to be no going back id like to plan ahead. id also like this thread to be helpful to everyone not just myself so the real question is, which passives at each tier should each profession of character choose? to make this discussion a little easier here is a link to the wiki of the passive abilities

I just did some quick testing.

Ground shields went from 381 to 404 so 23 shield extra.

Weapon 1 went from 110.2 damage, 88.2dps to 113.3 damage to 90.6dps

Weapon 2 went from 74.9 damage, 107dps to 77.1 damage to 110.2dps

I am temtped to go 3% crit and well unsure on the other.

Personally anything that boosts offense in space and ground as defense/heals passives are worthless when:
  • You are one-shotted
  • You boff skills out heal the passives via spike and hot's

The thing is the passives all stack. Take a ground regen passive trait, fit an armor regen passive, take the reputation regen passive and you end up around 60% regen in combat. Not overpowered but useful.

Same with the hull heal passive pretty useless at low levels but both ground and space passive regen at 60% means a free heal every few seconds.

Honestly go all damage except maybe the passive heal t4 on Borg. Because I don't know about you but in my sci/sci it comes out to a passive 1.6k shd heal every 6 sec lol

When I hit T4 rep I'll be extremely torn between the 1k shield heal per 6 seconds and the kinetic damage buff. Can anyone comment on which they think would be more helpful?

Given how small (relatively speaking) the kinetic proc is, and the stupidly low chance of it happening (the same as a phaser proc, and I'll get one, maybe two of those per target before it's dead) the shield heal comes out on top by a huge margin.

Of course, if Cryptic hadn't made the idiotic decision to make these passives un-respecable we'd be able to pick and choose based on our experience, needs and build as needed. But that would make too much sense wouldn't it?

Use of a Captain Retrain token on 11/26 caused both Omega & Romulan abilities to reset for me.

I'd rather not burn something that can only be replaced by a major systems update, or a cash payout just to fiddle. But that's just me.
