I agree that the new Borg damage is bad.

Here's what works for me.

I'm in a fleet patrol escort.

Use the turret console if you have it as much as possible.

Use torpedo and cannon spreads.

Both of the above will kill the torps.

Use your speed to outrun them. They will go away. Speed is your best defense. A huge mistake many escorts captains make is setting still in battle.

When hit by a plasma torpedo use your hazard emitters to put out the fires as quick as possible.

Use APO to break away from tractor beams or to help escape from oncoming torps.

Use doff buffs that will help your other skills recover faster.

If your in a cruiser and the plasma torps are killing you then you might want to look at your build closely.

It's all pretty standard stuff.

1) you guys didn't play the STF's when they first came out and you did both ground and space at the same time, didn't have all the p2w stuff and it took even the most well organized and thought out groups 30 mins to do them.
2) you must be running builds from season 6. Read the patch notes and you will change a lot of your Boffs and doffs around. I'm using a pvp build and I have no issue soloing a cube in my little (non vesta) sci ship. Welcome to the way it used to be everyone hope you in joy it because I actually am. It's called a challenge its what makes endgame fun.
Yeah, because this has a lot of impact on projectiles one-shotting you? Or plasma fire burning through your entire hull in less than 15 seconds. (the minimum CD of HE if you have 2 copies)

(Yes, I played STFs since launch. Even lost a few fleeties before we cracked KA)

I have yet to be one hit (ship build and spec helps against it) There hasn't been any invisible torpedoes (turn up your graphics) and as for the heavy plasma toros use something that never misses like a tractor. Just because they turned up the difficulty in the hardest missions in the game (like they should have) everyone crys. I like the new STF's why because you need teamwork, in S6 you could almost solo an stf and now you can't. A quote comes to mind on this one adapt and overcome.

I think it's kinda cool really. I didn't need to really pay much attention to health before season 7 but now I do. First time out on a S7 CSN I died once before I realized what was going on. Now my guard is up.

And yes on the teamwork. Maybe this will draw a few of the Kang campers out into the cubes where they need to be and fix a few of the problems found in the following thread.

LOL It was not on Elite but yesterday I had a guy post in team chat, "Who's gonna cover the Kang. If no one speaks up I'll do it."

I quipped, "If everyone does there jobs right no one will need to guard the Kang."

He said, "Most of the time people do not do their jobs." That was it for team chat till the GGs at the end of the scenario.

My guess is folks were doing their jobs as no one actually guarded the Kang and we still got the optional.

Woulda been nice if they held off blowing up the cubes till all the nodes were clear but hey we made it work.
If you are a pickle in a pickle jar you know every pickle's different, sort of, but really they're all just pickles...
They taste the same.

Graphics are the highest. Its really hard to see a small green torpedo coming at you on a green background on dark green borg.

First: The invisible torps are a fact of STO! Non-heavy torp animations are not tied to the actual effect, and the animation may hit you a few seconds before the damage is applied, a few seconds after, or never. This is a long standing STO issue, acknowledged by the devs several times over the last years. (especially in relation to cloak vs. invisible torps). Graphics settings has nothing to do with it, it's just a poorly implemented game mechanic.

Not being able to see them coming prevents you of hitting resists when needed. Heavy torps are not an issue, those you can see and shoot down.

Quote:
[Combat (Self)] Gateway deals 17530 (51901) Kinetic Damage to you with Plasma Torpedo.
1. This is NOT the highest hit I've seen from normal torps.
2. This one can be fired every 3 seconds. Meaning you'll have multiple DoTs much of the time.
3. This one has a 1000 damage per tick DoT. Even with a high aux Hazard, you'll be able to keep up with this only 1/3 of the time. Even with only one DoT.
4. The damage from this one is also high enough to take down your shields.
5. Normal torps are fired not only at the focused target, but also randomly at other targets, tieing up team HE support.

If you don't have an issue with this, it's most likely you're not being targeted. The un-targeted will usually have just enough heals to keep himself alive, leaving no HE to share with the one being targeted.

yeah there is definetly somehting up in ISE. regular plasma torps ripping through full shields in 1 hit and then doing 80% damage. wtf. ive got MK XII maco shields on my aquaris, which never had a problem with stf's b4 season7, and now im lucky to stay alive more than a minute or two. i was forced to switch back to a ship with more hull integrity. something needs to be done about this
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us.
*Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us.
*Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.

I have been pigging the stfs all week

I've never saw so many players destroyed
Over and over, several times I was the only one not
Respawning.

Season 6 tactics are not working, the Borg are
Actually attempting to defend themselves

Personally I love the season 7 stfs , the main thing to
Correct is the invisible and shield piercing torpedoes . And
There not that bad or frequent

I have agro on me a lot of the time and I am
Surviving and dealing damage

Build your ship as if you were playing star trek
Driving up nose to nose and shooting it out with a
Tactical cube isn't very smart.

Go to the pvp forum those guys have some great
Ideas on survivability.damage and power management

^^ this is all I ask for. Normal torpedo damage brough back in line. (fixing invisible torp is apparently beyond what the game engine can do)

Not frequent? I got hit 3 times by 50k-ish invisitorps in some 15 seconds, and died despite plenty of incoming heals :/
