A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
A good healer won't just be waiting for you to take damage before he does his thing. A well-built and well-played Eng/Cruiser or Sci/(x) will do wonders on this mission, and that's a good thing. It means Cryptic is slowly learning and developing.
Normally I'd agree that a fight at the Unimatrix should be tough. But even the Spheres are now throwing out 30k to 40k Invisitorps too. That somehow they get half their damage thru my shields too. Its not a matter of difficulty, its now a matter of getting lucky and/or zerging. I hear at later stages certain debuff and CC removal abilities are a must? Kinda limits it puggability. Encounters with positioning and timing are more pug friendly while still allowing all types of builds to work and best of all, they don't rely on big hits of doom to elevate "difficulty". I realize if it was a premade of competent players it'd be much easier to do, but pugs should be able to do it as well.
So find some friends or start a "Hive" channel or something! This is an MMO after all, although I know that's easy to forget sometimes...
no matter how many healers you got on a team, if you are oneshot killed
Problem being, I've been OSK'ed before-and guess what? it wasn't some 'invisible mystery death weapon", it was "I got out of position, overran my support, drew all the aggro and got cut off."
I run the squishiest of the squish ships-Bird of Prey-exclusively on my tac-no cruisers, no Raptors, just BoPs, I run ships that, by all rights of reason, should be the first, last, and at times ONLY casualties in an STF run.
I"ve been the first casualty, and the last, and the only...but there are times when I've been the only ship NOT taken down by the cubes/gates/etc too.
It goes to team quality and team tactics, build arrangement, Boff layout and Doffs on duty. Mind that since I STARTED running STFs, I've always kept full stores of repair parts to avoid the dreaded "you need to see the shipyard now" at the ending-because running a Bird of Prey MEANS you're the squishiest ship in the run, likely (because I swear the AI hates KDF more) the focus of Borg anger and Borg wrath (and borg weapons), but you adapt or you give up. I don't give up easily, I adapt. A "good run" typically will see me in the respawn zone at LEAST two or three times, and has been that way since Season 5.
Learn to minimize those visits-run lots of shield buffs, hazard emitters, and Duty Officers that enhance either your toughness, or your ability to evade, run APO in multiple copies, sure you give up SOME DPS, but it's useful against OP NPC's (not so useful in PvP, mind...)
Tac team in multi copies too-not just for the redistribution of shields, but because II and III give you a slight weapons buff, and it's your best defense against "assimilation" procs.
EPS and TSS in multiple copies, and you KEEP MOVING.

You get shot at without being targeted. The torpedos are invisible. And the damage is enough to kill you on first impact. Now how exactly do you heal agaiunst that? Unless there is some trick to keep maxed AtoSIF3 on all your teammates permanently, I just don't see how.
I kinda found hive space fun since you cant just steamroll it even in normal.
Eg in The Romulan ship rescue mission, I can tank an entire tholian armada while the rest of team disables the tractor beams to free the ships and this way we get the more ships freed out. We were even lucky once to have 3 scimitars in one run.
But in Hivespace, well, I cant get arrogant and try tanking all the borg like a hero and I have to be a lot more careful. The borg here remind me of the battle of Wolf365 where the one cube one-shot so many fed ships.
I only wish my plasma procs hit as hard as the borg ones do tho
I absolutely agree she needs a nerf even in the normal difficulty, there is no way that this mission is capable of being completed in 25min.
I did it yesterday!!!!!! Every optional completed!!! Elite variant
Into the Hive (elite) is difficult, and you need to plan what to do and how to do... but you can do it and it's a good thing that engaging the borg quin in it's hive must be difficult.
First of all you have to destroy the spheres, the the cubes... you need good players, with good dps... Having a debuffer/healer in your team is a great help.
Play into the hive elite, do it well... all others stf's will be a joke.
Oh all STFs are doable, even on elite, even with good time.
The problem is the random insta-pop that occurs every now and then. Insta-pops that can't be prevented. If they could be overcome by skill, it would not be an issue, but random "you're dead" handouts are just stupid.
being one-shot is not:
- fun
- challenging
- interresting
- a chance to show off skill.
That's weird, I don't get OS in this instance. So, unless you play captain kirk with fire at will, a tac on a cruiser with a poor build (show me your abilities tray and i'll let you know ), you won't get OS. Of course this instance requires you to play smart.
The unimatrixes torp spread aren't "visible" but as long as you run two copies of emergency power to shields, and as long as you acutally USE them constanly to get the damage resist (a TSS is advised to fill the 15 sec gap), you can't get OS. The unimatrixes only OS people who don't know how and when they have to click. And the queen might OS an escort but only if you don't know how to fly it, because if your team doesn't get into the 5km deadly area it's ok.
Just make sure that in your team:
- you have a good sci on a sci ship, or better, on a carrier
- you have a heal boat played by an eng.
- tacs know when they have to run away quickly and ask for support to their team mates instead of trying to kirk the instance
- tacs on escorts just don't stop like idiots waiting for the death sentence, because they need their defense bonus
- people have played HSE at least 5 times each and know the blind or safe spots
- people have a decent build with at least two copies of EPTS and at least one HE.
