I have done some PvP on both sides, and I do notice this:

When I queue up for FvK-whether as a Klingon or a Fed, it takes forever for the queue to pop. And when it does, the Klingons typically end up the winners. I am not saying that this is because Klingon ships/equipment are overpowered; far from it.

What I do notice is that many, if not most, of the Feds who queue up for FvK are inexperienced, to say the least. Even if I choose to decloak and stay out of the battle for a while, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I would think that they are fresh from blasting their way through PvE and story, where Klingons are some of the weaker opponents. This, for some reason, carries over to their PvP. They assume that the Klingon players are weak. Then, when they get stomped, few, if any, come back.

I do understand their feelings. Coping with decloaking alpha strikes, which are the mainstay of Klingon initial encounters, requires fast reflexes and, preferably, a good knowledge of defense and counters, which most new players simply do not have. PvE does not develop this ability. Even then, taking a fully buffed alpha from two or more decloaking Klingon ships tears my escort to bits.

Quite simply, it is the difference in communities that is the main reason why FvK queues tend to be somewhat one-sided. I rarely notice good Fedside players joining the FvK queue, but when I do, I celebrate. Honestly, pugstomping isn't fun at all, whichever side you're on.

I told you! You spoke too loudly and they have heard you!
Now seriously, my following post written in the Klingon Gameplay forum explains what I really think:

It's the first time I write on the Klingon Gameplay forum and I found this a very interesting thread.
The KDF players are the best of the best, we Feds know very well they are very skilled PvPers also because they have too little PvE to do.
The KDF vessels aren't really OP, but certainly they are able to give a devastating first blow thanks to the wonderful Bop, to drain too power with siphon carrier builds and also the battle cruiser is better than our cruiser in an offensive role.
So the average Fed faces a task too difficult and then will be inevitably defeated.
Only the best Feds who teamwork and crossheal can survive and counterattack.
Who is believed to be Kirk is under an illusion and will be always vaporized.
But I will not bother you over and then I salute you with my usual...evil Klinguns!

I don't think I'm wrong and in fact I made a compliment to the evil Klinguns because they really deserve it

That would be awesome. If PvE had NPCs that would extend each other and crossheal and alpha I would play the hell out of that mode.

I've seen fed NPC ships (frigs I think) use ES in PvP and PvE fyi. I don't know if it's consistant at all, but it's out there.

As far as Alphas, I've seen NPC Alphas being called 1 shots that aren't. People just don't know how to turn their ships, nor BFI, nor Distribute shields, nor use TT, nor adjust shield power setting, etc., not to mention carrying counters and cross supporting each other in PuGs.

There's a Rommie NPC that has all the right elements but just can't make the pieces work lol. I think it's the ship smaller than a D'Deridex (Mogai?). Tell you what though, seeing it use TT made me double take.

A good hard AI would be terrific but I do think we have to be realistic, no AI is ever going to come close to the difficulty of fighting a real breathing opponent. Getting players to know the basics of how the abilities work with and against each other would be nice, though.

Yeah, the Mogai.

I wish they would use that as a template and make tougher enemies for PvE.
