I name mine after NATO designation for Russian subs esp for KDF ships. (sorta fits actually esp in light of Star Trek 6)
My current main is a Fleet Vorcha going by the name I.K.S Akula.

Unfortunately because of the stupid bug in Season 7 at times, my ship name gets replaced by the name of my Shuttle and NPCs refer to the Akula as IKS Dungbeetle

USS Tesadora:

I've been playing trek games for a long time. Tesadora is the ship I used in Star Trek Bridge Commander.

U.S.S. Elise McKenna (Temporal Science Ship)

NCV-100380

A character from the movie "Somewhere In Time" and the date the movie premiered in the USA.

Seemed appropriate to me.

# 2046 Ship Name
11-21-2012, 09:02 AM
Since playing Star Trek online i've had more then a couple of ships
either named from places or family names of importance.

My most recent ship which is a Mirror Assault cruiser is named the U.S.S. Franklin
Family name with all of its historical connections.

Since CoH (and even before in PnP land), I've had a running gargoyle theme.

Before VA, most of my ships were named after sentinel/ guard/ watchtower themes. But after VA, I decided to go with Slavic deities.

It also helps me track older "loot storage" ships and my new ready-to-captain vessels at a glance, with the two different naming schemes

I don't care how long you've been playing. I only care about how you play.
And remember to follow the rules.

My first ships (from the beginning):

U.S.S. Lost Avatar - which didn't really mean anything but sounded decent at the time

U.S.S. Redacted - Cause I figured the ship wouldn't last long. But it did.

U.S.S. Magnus - The name of a character in a book I wrote some years ago.

I have a few that I use and kind of wait to see if anyone gets the reference.

U.S.S. Mercy Island. Admiral Angelica Vendetti, commanding.

-- one of the locations in City of Heroes

U.S.S. Elizabeth Dehner. Lt. Daniella Vendetti, commanding.

-- TOS reference

U.S.S. Cendrillon. Captain Adria Jin, Commanding.

-- the French name for a very famous Fairy Tale.
