The trade mission is annoying at first, as it's a logic puzzle. You just scan through once to see what all the merchants offer and what they want in trade for them. Then just draw the lines connecting point a to point e. If there's no variation to it, then just hold up the map of goods and spend maybe three minutes working it out.

I'm not a fan of the 'blast everything' missions.

The puzzle ones may take a little longer, but they're fun in the short term.

Pretty much this. I built a map of all the trades for that mission and I can finish it in about 2 minutes, faster than any of the combat missions. The trades are consistent, so you don't have to rebuild it every time you take the mission.

Those straight combat missions are a waste of time; theirs and mine. If all I want to do is fight bad guys with nothing interesting about the combat or the mission, there are exploration missions I can do. Heck, they're actually more interesting because there's actually some variety (though not much).

Patrol missions should be something interesting, something different from the usual drivel we're being fed.

Well, I'm fed up.
Once, I was simply called Mojo. Now, I'm forced into a new name, but don't be fooled, I'm the original STO Mojo!

Crafting, Exploration and Interaction as it should be:

I rather like them. First, your rescuing Romulans, and you even have a chance to have the Federation/Klingon flagship join up too. Secondly, the attack waves warping in is far better than homing in on an encounter that is just lazily flying around in circles.
