Not to go off-topic but Zorandra, don't you find it tough without APO? Sometimes I have both APO and PH on the MVAM and even then the amount of tractor beams can make a single manly tear roll down my cheek.

vids and guides and stuff

I think this idea is one of the best to come out of these forums!

Sometimes its a single manly tear, but I use TBR and evasive to an extent to get away from tractorbeams.

Same, I take two... Which in a mobius relegates me to using 2x crf1.

*Almost* makes me want to jump into a fleet blockade escort.

not sure if this is the place to ask but it seems u guys are pretty passionate about pvp.

i am a new player couple months now and like pvp but

the few builds i thought would work well and did resulted in me being verbally attacked
in chat standard name calling noob, cheese factory not sure what that means but what ever
anyway here is my question

is there a link or a list of unexceptable pvp weapons, combos, skills, consoles and what ever other cheese as u call it?

thnx

There is a great deal of diversity when it comes to the ethics of PvP play and there is no "list" of banned/problematic items. Here is my suggestion:

1) Post your build in the PvP forum and ask for feedback.

2) Try your best to ignore the insults that are thrown at you by PvP players. I am so sorry that somebody treated you in this manner. Unfortunately, many PvP players blame Cryptic for the lack of PvP players--and Cryptic is to be blamed, in part--and then, at the same time, drive new players like you away by insulting them. This sort of behavior is completely unacceptable and is a sign of your opponent's emotional immaturity and inability to offer criticism without mixing it with insult. If a player has a criticism to share with you about your build it should be done in a way that does not include mocking.

3) Show up for Boot Camp on Dec 29th, 2012 (time TBD). One of the central lessons we will cover is your build. Boot Camp will be a safe environment where you can learn, make mistakes, and hopefully improve. Here is a website that is still under construction: http://pvp-boot.camp.shivtr.com/

Please feel free to contact me in-game (@gradstudent1) or via email (sargon.priorityone@gmail.com).

Thanks!

Name U.S.S. Tripticon
STO Planner http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skil...tobatChimera_0
Short Description Aux 2 Battery build for Faster recharges.
Ship Class Escort
Ship Specific Chimera Heavy Destroyer
BOFF
Cmd Tac: Tac Team 1, <varies>, Attack pattern Omega 1, Rapid Fire 3 or Scatter volley 3
LtC Uni: Emergency power to shields 1, Auxilery to the Battery 1, Eject Warp Plasma 1 or other
Ensign Uni: Tractor Beam 1
Lt Engi: EmergencY power to Auxilery 1, Auxilery to the Battery 1
LT Sci: Hazard emitters 1, Transfer shield Strength 2
DOFF 3x Technician 2x (Any)
ENG Consoles <Varies>
SCI Consoles Dynamic Tactical System, Assimilated Module
TAC Consoles 3 or 4x <Energy weapon of choice>, if 3x, 1x of Mine of Choice
Purpose
The build uses Aux 2 Bat x2 to achieve Global Cool down across ALL Bridge officer skills. This allows for MANY things:

Permanent Eject Warp Plasma - With your Warp Plasma on Global Cool down, you will be able to Deploy more Plasma before the last Cloud series has disapeared.

DEM - With a near perma DEM, you can guarentee better Damage through shields, though the down sides is only able to use DEM 1 and not DEM 3

Reasons for Emergency power to Aux and Emergency power to shields - With everything on global, some times the Double Aux to Bat kills Aux power to 0 between cycles. EptA helps to recover Aux during those down cycles.

Despite the Heavy Energy set up above, the build can run nearly ANY set up, making it the most universal build avaliable. Need a Mine deployer/Torpedo Spammer? Change Rapid FIre 3/Spread 3 to Dispersal Pattern Beta 3 and add Torpedo Spread 2. Want to go with a FAW build? Change omega 1 to FAW 3, and change Rapid Fire 3 to Omega 3.. The Ideas and possibilities are nearly Endless.

Note on the skills listed in the planner: They are my personal set up for an easier way for me to go from ship to ship as I like to fly different roles. More of a Jack of all trades really. Probobly better to optimize skills towards the role of a Tac in an escort.
You think that your beta test was bad?

Thanks, webdeath. We needed an aux 2 batt build anyway.
