I bought this ship to, because the ship sale and a wanted a different Klingon ship. All my Klingon characters are flying BOP's.

I am not happy with it. It is an escort, but in siege mode you sacrifice alot with the slow movement and turning. On an escort you put guns, but given their small arc of fire, you need turnability. So no siege mode. It seems the special gimmick of the ship doesn't fit in with the normal role the ship has; it is a hybrid and hybrids ... they are seldom good at both ends.

The javelin needs time to charge up, so I fly in using all my guns, by the time the javelin has enough charge, I have bypassed the target. Perhaps my wrong doing in combat handling. However guns do more damage at close range. Being close by you are prone to all kind of attacks, tractor beam, shockwaves etc. Believe me, I do not want to be close by when I have no speed and turning rate. I want to stay out of that 5 km zone, but then I am limiting my dps from my gun fire. As I have said, the ship as a design has a missconcept.

I am thinking of going all beams. Two dual in the front, two or three single beams and the rest with mines and torpedoes.

Oh, and I too was destroyed after firing my javelin and while I was transformed out of siege mode. As people say, probably bad luck, but the transforming is a pretty nasty gimp; it feels like a stun you put on yourself.

It works fine. The Siege mode is meant to be used as a siege mode. That means firing on mostly immobile targets. Your not suppose to dogfight in siege mode.

So if you need to kill a cube, gate, donatra, assimilated carrier, etc... You go siege, otherwise stay in your normal mode

This is wierd. Last week I was using my Garumba like a champ. Fleet gear including shields to reduce Tet damage vs the Tholians. This week I'm space dust. I thought it was just me. It still could be, but now you've made me decide to take a closer look at what is going on.

I haven't flown my Garumba in a while so I'll wait for Thissler to look into possible borking. But I used it for STFs and it functioned quite well. I always had trouble using it in PvP, but that was mostly me. As I also fly a Qin and the Fleet Vor'cha on this toon, I never saw the Garumba as being a weak sister.

I'm using the Guramba with my science toon. Plasmonic leech, subnuke, and polarized disruptors are quite effective at shutting down borg cubes. (siege mode adds one more leech effect)

This is PvE only. In PvP I consider it useless vs. competent opponents. And I would never use it with a tac captain.

The javelin is just a finisher, don't use it during combat. It will actually reduce your DPS because of the spoolup time and the two transformations that will prevent other guns from shooting.

That just SCREAMS "I don't know what I'm doing" and the follow up confirms it. You really need to think things through before you consider stuff like this. Honest, not going to beat this into the ground but sometimes you may need to consider what your ship is working with before you blame it all on the ship.

Anyways. Gave my ship another pass looking at the gear etc etc and as far as the new PVE content goes it really was just me. At times I'd be hit by multiple drain torpedo volleys as well as target sub systems weps and it would just end up a mess. In short, still some difficult spots but if I payed a bit more attention was fine.

OK here is more noob stuff. I put beams on it, the Breen set and transphasic torps and mines and go siege. I do only the the kid stuff in this game so no problem having a fun build.

The ship looks more badass in siege mode. I also think I gave the ship a better identity since guns do not fit in with this ships. The raptor, BoP and escorts are gunships in my view.

I like it and at least I got some fun for my bucks.

Saying you have fun with a ship is never noob. I use that Breen set up. No way I'm tossing it out. Check out the Rapid Fire torp from the missions.

Also I found Dual Banks look cool cause you get TWO beams shooting out instead of one.

Only when I find the words 'I can't' or 'it won't do' or 'the devs are retarded' do I start to think someone may be missing out on the use of a ship that they payed for just because they may not have all the information they need and frustration has shut thier eyes a bit.
