As was, I suppose, the guy in the Norgh (regular T3 one, not fleet or even refit) with some 18 ship injuries I was teamed with yesterday.

I imagine if you have 3-4 of those guys in your team, it'll get very challenging indeed.

Then again, I suspect these guys are challenged in and of themselves.

ISE with all turret Atrox and his fleetmate.

First cube and spheres go nice. Whole team go left and open fire at cube, but not Atrox. He and his fighters attack generator, destroing it when rest of generators were ~50-60%. Than he turn over and flight to right side, by the way he use TBR to push nanite sphears in transformer failing optional. Died from gate, resp and go attack right generators. His fleet friend go and help him. Die, resp, attack generators (cube still alive) over and over.

After that I had enough and go AFK.

OI, 18???

Eighteen? I'm embarassed if I enter an ESTF with 1 overlooked injury.

(which happened yesterday, KASE-after-failed-CSE, 1 injury, Sickbay...fixed as soon as the tac cube was down.)

The KASE was interesting in a bad way-not the worst, but it could have been. At start, someone announces they're going to watch probes on the left-which is good, it's nice to have roles defined.

We blow the tac cube and I notice we have an Oddy firing multiple colours...and hauling a lot of unrepaired breakage.

(Okay, he's a fed. He'll learn...)

Four go Left, I hesitate (embarassing moment) wondering who's going to cover right, until I realize that oh-****-i've been-elected.

I'm in a Fleet Norgh, Polarons and no torps, CRF but no scatter, no CC abilities at all.

Booogie my ass to get to the probes that are just now reaching half-way to the vortex, and rush to try and get them both as I REALLY don't want to have THIS mission tank the same way the CSE that gave me my unfixed sick bay did.

I got one, the other one I needed one more volley I couldn't get.

Dammit. 1 probe through.

I set to work trying to keep any OTHER probes from that side out.

Which is actually work, when ALL your targeting is set to 'manual' to avoid drawing the attention of the Gate itself.

at this point, someone mentions "A Beam Raptor? REALLY??" (referencing one of the four on the other side) to which I chime in "Hey, send him over here, one BoP isn't doing it."

FedScort driver (name redacted in recognition of the rules here) says, "You're doing fine."

To which I replies "one already got past me."

kill two more probes, look at chat box, and the word "Noob" is in there.

"I'll let that slide because it's true." I quip-trying to defuse some tempers with the injection of my patented dry humour.

The four on the other side of the map have a couple folks getting killed a LOT.

The probes are coming in a little faster, my logic and experience tell me that they got one and/or both of the transformers on the far side down. I still haven't had time to start addressing love to the Gennies.

FedScort driver comes over-alone, while the other three are still playing poke-me with the gate, and starts working gennies far-side of the gate from me. Summons Cube.

I'm hands-full with Probes now, and expecting Spheres SOON.

oh, and my miss rate at this point is ONE probe, at the start, because I hesitated at the beginning....which is my fault.

Fedscort tries to solo the Cube, gets killed, I announce "CUBE!!" on the chat between volleying down Probes (now coming in three packs).

apparently the message had to wait until I got aced by the cube myself-admittedly, I left off probing for a moment when the big bastard charged me, rolling through all my defensive buffs in order while CRF1, 2,3, BO2 and DEM, with APA, then APO1 and 3, and TT running.

When he killed me, my blowing up finished the cube anyhow.

I guess that got somebody's attention in the second group-or maybe it was the two probes that got past whilst I was exploding.

so, here I am waiting for the first respawn of the match, kind of watching.

The far gate has gone boom, but this one has two intact transformers. Fedscort Res's first, and moves out like a fed on a mission.

I res second, and spend a moment clearing my damage. (Yes, with 16,500 hull, fixing things is kind of important and I carry LOTS of spares.)

funny thing is, didn't see this mythical Beam raptor.

Saw instead two cruisers and what looked like a temporal ship, plus FedScort...all Federation ships.

Rainbow rambo's bravely trying to hold back the surge of Probes and spheres, someone's laying nice thick clouds of Plasma, and I'm finally back up to snuff and back in the-

the ****** gate noticed me.

I'm back to triggering buffs and heals and trying to evase as gate-beams reach out and it's shield-drain thing is going on me...and I'm wondering what I did to get all this attention when I ain't shot a shot since res.

I've got plasma eating hull, no more HEs left until cooldown, TSS expended, EPS expended, I target and lay into the probe closest to the gate, while a cruiser or something is exploding nearby.

Oh, brace for imp...-****.

too late.

REsurrection time again.

at least I got that breakaway probe...

Fix breakage, check. Cloak up, check. Head back into the fray...

Oh, look, a cube...headed for the vortex. ****. it's moving which means it's defeated everyone who's tried to stop it, and it's probably escorting probes...

Fedscort gets on it before I reach the scene, drops the cube with the help of Temporal Science vessel.

I somehow manage to do enough Probe Cleanup to make a couple spheres very interested in me, but it's not as frantic as it was in spite of the increased population of spawns, because there are OTHER targets fro the spheres and probes, right???

REspawn.

Fix Damage.

counter's holding at 3 probes. (whew!!)

No optional, but at lest it's not a full mission fail yet.

Second Transformer's down.

Respawn.

Fix damage.

Why are they bickering in chat? I'll ask later...

Gate goes down, there's a squadron of spheres and probes still out...

and the contact bug. there goes the cloak, while Donatra rants about perfection and surrender.

Now, given the quality of the digital iron rolling in this group, aside from Rainboat, I'm the least likely to draw fire. I have no spec in Threat Control, and compared to a Fedscort, should NOT have the DPS to keep Donatra's loving attention.

Especially not with people spamming quantum torpedoes, grav wells, tyken's rift....I'm just a Tac in a BoP!

People comparing E-Peens gets annoying.

I did what I do-I played "supporting fire" and after a little while, a lot of chatter, and a few Res's (the only times I actually got a chance to say anything), it's Rainboat who gets the kill on Donatra-after we've stripped her shields and taken her below 2%..the hard way.

a couple people just jump out, while I'm typing two letters. "gg".

Rainboat doesn't, yes, he's smug...good for him. He died more than I did, in a ship that should've been able to both deliver the pain, AND shrug it off more than I could.

but at least he did type the two letter salutation before leaving.

I do a quick check of my stores, just for 'completeness' sake.

out of 20 "Minor components" I had before the CSE disaster immediately preceding this game, I had 8 left.

I was only down 1 "Major Components" from THAT pack.

On the balance, not bad considering I wasn't having my best day in terms of play, in a team that was bickering, on a map I visit only slightly more often than ISE (ew, ISE... )...

Had one KDF player today, come into ISE and blow up 1 generator on each side to fail the optional. Then when I asked him why he did he go to the other side instead of following the rest of us, he replied "I came, I trolled, I conquered".

That's common. I've seen it happen many times and it's always a KDF, I think the same one, that does it. I doubt there would be much anyone could do about it because #1, he's tecnically an enemy faction to the Feds (Sabatoge) and #2 it's part of the game.

All those "Fedscorts" have over you is 1 Turret, but they lack the Battle Cloak (double-tap it every 15s!*); so it's not surprising you'd pull Threat. Especially if they're wasting Weapon slots and BOFF slots on Torpedoes.


*but be careful of the bug: if the delay is too short, sometimes you're left half-cloaked: visible, but still unable to shoot and counting neither as cloaked or uncloaked. Quite an annoying bug.

a GOOD tac-in-a-Bop can. Honestly, prior to getting assisted, I might've held the number of Probes getting past at zero-if I'd had the wits to start blocking EARLIER.

Problem there was my slow wits. The problem with doing other things between waves, is not technical, it's thinking-in my case, NOT wanting to try cube-hunting solo WHILE blocking probes. I prefer the presence of backup to avoid mission-fails, esp. when the CSE prior to this KASE went bad because everyone else thought someone else was covering the Kang...including, I'm ashamed to admit, me.

The scenario in my mind was if I spawned a cube, and FAILED to contain both it, and the probes, the mission would go toes-up and it would be MY fault the gate was uncovered-not surprisingly, because it was my not knowing an entire side was being left unguarded except for me until it was too late that let ONE probe through.

Communication is so VERY important...
