# 1 Romulan Doffs

With the Embassy fleet holding, i understand that there are "unique" Romulan Doffs. Could someone who has access to them list their effects?

Some people are - the store opens at Embassy Recruitment T1 - I've been trying to shake someone in such a fleet down for an Embassy invite to check out what the vendor has to offer. Regardless, the fleet I am in (notice I do not say 'my fleet') completes the embassy in a few days.

I do know that a few days ago someone posted to say the Romulan tractor doff was broken.

Of course there's the million-Zpoint question:
Are there Romulan cooks/bartenders in the doff pool?

Also, what are the Romulan boff racials?

I've posted some info about these in a couple other threads, but I don't mind helping to spread the word, as it were.

To begin, they, the DOFFs do not require any provisions. The BOFFs do however.

Both the DOFFs and BOFFs are stupid-expensive, especially at the higher rarities. The purple DOFFs are 125k FCs, and the purple BOFFs are 120k FCs and 30k Dil (or somewhere in that really high range).

Green BOFFs are like 40k FCs and 10k Dil, and green DOFFs are 7,500 FCs. Can't remember the prices for blues, but somewhere in the middle of both of those.

The Romulan BOFFs all have a unique ground trait, which provides a bonus to their crits and exposes I believe, called Subterfuge. A few have some rarer abilities, like torp spread 3, and Energy Siphon 3, but the only truly unique stuff is that the purple science ones, have a trait called Stasis Specialist, which improves on their best ground skill, Stasis Field 3.

Aside from that, normal skills, good traits (all ground though), and that's about it.

The DOFFs...are also disappointing, two of them at least.

One science DOFF (can't remember the class), adds electrical damage to Stasis Field when you use it (because the Xenobiologist kit has it). The hold isn't broken though from that damage. Pretty dumb still, considering how EASY it is to break the hold regardless, not to mention Xenobiologist isn't a good kit in the first place.

A transporter officer, reduces cooldown on consumable ground pets. Namely the new Romulan and Reman security teams. Might work on others, but honestly, if you even cared, the times you would want to reduce CDs on those, you will be with a tac who can use tac initiative, OR you are that tac who can do that in the first place. Pretty much not wasting space on though.

Now...the best of the three is a new Security Officer. It provides a proc anytime you use Ambush, to boost your damage resistance (not on shields, just health). You can equip up to three as well. Not to mention Fire Team is the new kit from the Embassy, making it even more worth while to use. The only real limiting factor to these DOFFs at higher rarity is their huge FC cost.

So there's the new BOFFs and DOFFs in a nutshell.

IIRC this also works on Shard of Possibilities and Horta. Yes, I know they aren't technically consumable, but you get the idea. My Eng and Sci chars will probably end up using this.

I also seem to remember a Dev stating somewhere that Tactical Initiative isn't supposed to work on consumables.

This is like attaching a damage resist doff to APO. What are they thinking? I don't PvP ground but this has to have people that do pretty chapped.

Hmm, interesting. Hadn't tried that. Still not on my personal list of 'useful ground DOFFs' though. If it works for you, I'm glad of course.

I have some purple Diagnostic Engineers on my Fed Engy, and he uses Equipment Technician (and sometimes Support Technician), which lets me mega-buff myself or an ally with Equipment Diagnostics. I love doin it. Awesome when they all proc too.

I see. Well, even so, if that is ever fixed, until then, tac initiative is still more useful for reducing CDs.

Yeah, pretty much. Let's see...

Mk XII Fire Team from the Embassy:

Ambush 3 (with up to three potentially of the new Security DOFFs proccing)
Battle Strategies 3
Suppressing Fire 3
Motion Accelerator 2
Plus other potential tac buffs and added skills. (maybe even sci and engineering debuffs)

With all that stuff together, hmm...I bet with a lucky enough crit, you might be able to one-shot a Heavy Tac drone, or get close to it.

Ground PvP is already so insanely busted and broken, this only makes it more so for tacs.

OK, I misunderstood how this was supposed to work.

I thought Romulan doffs were going to be randomly generated (more or less) from a box, like fleet doffs. Instead, I see, there are three doffs of each rarity, and two boffs of each profession, of each gender, of each rarity - 18 total.

Kind of disappointing. Hopefully they will fix Romulan costumes by the time the fleet I am in is high enough to purchase purple-quality costumes.

I am disappointed that there is no randomness to the system, and that all the blue doffs are male and all the greens and purples are female. No cook or bartender! QQ. They didn't even give them lore quotes.

Seems like really lazy/rushed design.
