# 1 When I see...

...someone from these PvP forums over Ker'rat, or in a que'd match, it's good.

When I see someone from a BIG PvP fleet, or from the PvP Bootcamp in an Arena (as I did the other night), it's REALLY good.

When I see a "Name" player on the other side, I know this is going to be an awesome match, and I'll probably die a lot...and I' don't care about that, I know the fight will be a lot of fun.

I keep seeing these "accords" threads, or fleets taking up sides on the "P2W" and other issues, ranting and arguing...and it's not so good.

The hours I get to play are "Late" for most of you-hell, they're late for ME, I work 2nd shift and get home around midnight my time, so seeing "name" players from "name" fleets in Ker'rat, or getting ANY kind of que to pop, is a rarity for me.

I have a suggestion though-instead of trying to regulate the GEAR, howsabout instead the major PvP teams and fleets put together a code of CONDUCT and publicize it-an "Ettiquette" for PvP, a set of social rules that explain what is, and is not, acceptable BEHAVIOUR, instead of gear.

Little things, like congratulating the other team when they win, instead of warping out in a huff as soon as the match is ended, and being a gracious winner if that's what your team did.

The place to "talk Trash" is either on the forums away from a match, or BEFORE the match. Afterward, maybe a little bit of social behaviour and such being encouraged is a good idea? Instead of shouting "HAAAXXXX" when you lose, maybe stopping to talk tactics and builds with the guy who just creamed you is in order-we who PvP by choice (instead of just to rak up dilithium) are a minority, the ones willing to do so even in the face of Cryptic's neglect of this aspect of the game even moreso, we'll never get anywhere with the rest of the game if they see us as ranting children or chest-thumping morons.

MOST of the PvP community seems to understand this implicitly, but there are exceptions that maybe should wake up and realize the game is not benefitting when they put out a douchebag impression...

I can't remember the last time I joined a queue or went to Ker'rat. It probably seems longer than it was because of all the tedious Rep grind...meh.

That being said, before that - it was a very rare match that I found myself saying GG. If anything, I was more likely to apologize to the other side than offer a GG...

...say what?

Was it because our PUG team destroyed them? Nope, lol - nothing like that.

It was just very rare that one of the four things was not taking place:

They had an AFKer or even more than one.
We had an AFKer or even more than one.
Somebody on their team was spamming cheese.
Somebody on our team was spamming cheese.

If they had AFKers or somebody on our team was spamming cheese, well - if I was going to say anything, it would be to apologize.

If we had AFKers or somebody on their team was spamming cheese, well - I wouldn't say anything (unless they started bragging, at which point I would describe anatomically impossible physical acts between farm animals and the female members of their family).

I think the only reason that I continued to queue as long as I did, was for those very rare good games - they're a blast, the most fun to be had in STO.

The amount of cheese, bugs, imbalance, AFKers, etc, etc, etc - just got to be too much.

As awesome as any discussions about Etiquette, gear usage, etc, etc, etc may be... it won't fix any of those potential issues.

PUGland is Hell, and it's only going to get worse.

Those discussions though, the Boot Camp stuff, the league stuff, etc, etc, etc - with private matches where everybody's on board with everything... that could be a most particularly awesome experience for those that enjoy PvP in STO...

...outside of that, it's a lost cause.

We do need regular OPvP matches. They are the most fun and you dodge the unpredictability of fail teammates.

i love fighting in kerrat, up until some guy (friend or foe) brings the borg into it and they ONLY target me. i mean i was attacked by some BOP and then the borg fly over because he aggroed them and then the borg suddenly target me when i didnt fire a shot at them.

i dont have any points in threat generation either.

another time, a bop was shooting a cube that would target me and i tried running. the bop still firing on the cube, yet it was still targeting me.

i see this happen a lot to fed players there. the borg i guess prefer the feds for assimilation?

Ehh, I prefer to call that 'using the environment to our advantage'. It's one of the things that tends to make Ker'rat interesting

and i totally get that. i just think the borg are fed biased.

seriously, the borg will hunt and seek out feds even if the klingons stir the pot.

Y'know, in a weird, in-universe sort of way, that DOES make sense though.
