And I'm not going to make PVP anything. I'm not braindead enough to play STO PVP and crawl through craptics crap anymore.
I dunno, I don't seem to have that many problems in Ker'rat. . .even when outnumbered, I can usually devise ways to outwit the feddies that are using broken/overpowered stuff. I've blown up my fair share of Vestas, Wells, and other 'snazzy' gimmick ships, and I've done it in my Hegh'ta. I'll be blowing up Breen ships before long.

Then again, a lot of PvPers seem to shun Ker'rat. I'd say they're missing out, tbh.

It is sad to say that discussions like this have happened for more than a year, if not two years now.

I am afraid there will never be a real, working player-driven solution for th e problem of cheese console powers and stuff like that. You can get it done for a tournament (but expect some crying and conflicts about why something is considered cheese and what makes the tournament organizer so special that he gets to set the rules and "you only won because you had rules that favoured your team"), but for the general queues, it seems to have never worked out, and I see no reason to believe it will.

As long as Cryptic isn't willing or able to offer tools to regulate this, there will never be a real solution, and new conflicts will flare up again and again.

Do you still get that token as F2P player?

Personally, its simply due to how broken kerrat is. Last time I was there, we were outnumbered and still were taking the Feds lunch money. We were queued and sent into a match. When we came back, only three of us went into kerrat due to the Feds that had been there calling for reinforcements and filling the instance. 3 klinks vs however many ppl it takes to fill the instance was not a lot of fun. Of course the Feds made it super fun by not even giving is a chance to spawn and fight back, but "that's how kerrat goes" I guess. Since they wouldn't even give us a fighting chance to respawn, we simply warped out leaving ~17 Feds holding there dicks in one hand while slapping each other on the back with the other. "That's how kerrat goes" I guess.

If they simply changed it to where only ten of each faction could enter, it would be a huge improvement, but I guess cryptic would have to remember where kerrat is first to even start to work on it.

Team v Team que and random team ques are not here yet and we do need them. You and i have had some good times back in the day. Now, i know and like a few Nova Core guys some, S.O.B and other fleet guys. I just got to say even with the consuls (buy it play it) Lobi ships yea expensive, Why dose Nova Core still struggle in pvp against Pugs? Its the Consuls. Cheep Tricks (Pay to win) are a handy cap to real skill. Strip them off train up and get in there and be what you could be. Then if you really find you like what a consul dose for your build and play style use it. Tric Mines and the Rep system you know its gana happen and that's all it will be for a few weeks soon. Cryptic dose need to step in and take a look. Game population is effected buy pvpers keep speaking out on that they will listen they want you to want the new ships and consuls the game is Free to Play and they want your ZEN

You know back when I still played regularly I would have cared about this post, but since I started playing GW2 WvWvW I can't enjoy STO pvp any more. I can't enjoy these little shoebox matches when I have a whole new world to conquer, and crush each month. Good luck to anyone still playing PvP here, the queues are all but dead. Cryptic promised season 6 would be pvp revamp galore, and yet they still haven't even fixed Alt+F4ing! Cryptic obviously gives absolutely zero ****s about pvp.

Also for the record I think that separate queues for teams & pugs is putting a band-aid on a rotting zombie-infected flesh wound. It stinks and everyone is sick of talking about it we just need to accept that we only keep this thing alive because we love star trek, and not the now lifeless shell of a video game it's inhabiting.

I have no issues having queues pop in either FvF or FvK.

If all else fails, there's always OPvP pugmades or Minimax's 10v10 OPvP big games.

Thank you for making great points on the conduct of others and builds in pvp.

I would say, if there are those that are trying to create a rigged game where everyone fights in cookie cutter 4 and 5 console tac ships and the only difference is knowledge of the game/rig/and reaction time- forget them.

I hope that there can be alot more variety in the types of builds out there beyond the only difference being cannon rapid fire 3 vs 2.

side note: best way to deal with "trash talkers", ignore button, and the great part about it is they dont even know they are being ignored

Speaking as a long time friend of the quality players of Nova Core and having been a former member myself, I would like to address the fact that Trip, is making a very valid point here concerning the PvP element regarding how far out of control it has gotten due to developer oversight concerning mechanics. I have run a great many premades with a large variety of Nova Core members in the past running as either my healer or my escort. The premades I would be in, sure some of the things we had used, would be considered "cheesy". Some of the premade teams we would go up against would also be running things that other people would consider "cheesy". The problem as Trip so wonderfully stated it several times, concerns the actual design mechanics put in place by the development team. Now to be fair, the development team is incredibly small and Cryptic has attempted to "fix" the problem. But as they have mentioned before, they have inevitably "failed" to do so. That is primarily due to the very short sighted thoughts concerning the design mechanics of said console/doff/power layout you can utilize on a variety of ships. The bug ship has a very powerful layout that no other ship can actually replicate, not because of the console layout, but the stations that are universal. This can make for a very nasty combination. But just because it can be done by that ship while other ships can't. Does that make it OP? Some would say yes, while others would say no. Is the bug ship unstoppable? Hardly, there is a build out there to combat another build when used effectively. I have run in premades with my heal boat against fleets like TSI, Pandas, Clowns, Risa and many others. All of these fleets have very good players who know how to run solid builds.

With that said, it has taken some of those fleets, back when I ran with Nova Core all five members of their team with concentrated focused fire to down someone. Other times it wouldn't because they would change up their tactics. And if they would adapt and bring in another tactic we would have to adjust as well. Now, I cannot speak for what has transpired over the last half a year or so because I have been gone from the game. But I know Trip, he is a good player and he means what he says about changing the face and image that is perceived in Nova Core. I'm glad to see that he is doing so because I will admit that in when I was in NC there were bad apples who would present a negative picture in the PvP scene. Hell I'll admit, even I was guilty of it once in a while, but it wasn't because I took offense to being blown up, I let my personal life issues get in the way of gaming enjoyment and I took it out on others. With that being said, all this negativity that was being thrown back and forth by individuals, (you know who you are, all we have to do is scroll back and look) is what needs to stop. If people want to save PvP in any sense, people need to let go of the past and look forward. Don't berate the actions of a man trying to bring quality back to something that Cryptic has inevitably failed to do.

Cheers to you Trip, I'm glad to see you're back and involved again.
