See that other ship in the picture firing a green beam at the nanite generator -- that's disruptor, no? Light green, closer to yellow than blue whereas this one looks to be a warm green still on blue's side of the spectrum but much less so than the cyan of regular plasma. Then again, maybe that other ship isn't firing a disruptor but something else entirely; I seriously don't remember what disruptors look like, but I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Edit: Had to test it out, here's a pic of all three side by side. It's "clearly" different.

I only need 5 for my ship so that's 142700 dilithium. That's about two and a half weeks worth of dilithium. Indeed pricey, but mkxii plasma/disrupter [acc2] weapons...hard to pass up.

Comparing this Romulan beam arrays to Borg Antiproton; Should I go for romulan? I like the idea of disruptor+plasma proc and with the romulan set it should be quite good. Does Reman set also offer some bonuses?

Btw I'm an engineer in a cruiser

Only if you use the roluman set to get a small but required boost to plasma damage.

You can't get Borg antiproton any more, I believe. So there's that.

I know you can't get them anymore. I already have them from previous season. Just wondering if the new romulan beam arrays combined with romulan and (optionally) reman set are superior to AP borg beam arrays

Well, part of the reason they took the Borg weapons out was because the procs didn't work.

So... Ignore the [Borg] mod and I'd say the Romulan weapons ARE better.

So Disruptor = yellow-green
regular Plasma beam = cyan-green
Romulan Plasma = blue-green

I had a "really?" post back when I unlocked the Mk XI in the store and saw the prices. I had to loll thinking about somebody buying non-Mk XII (even the other gear) - because they'd be at Mk XII before they finished buying all the non-Mk XII.

When they cut the time to get to each tier in half, they didn't touch the prices...

They might have been high when it took twice as long, but you'd have had twice as long to get the lower stuff and use it before you got to the higher stuff.

If it still took twice as long to get to the higher tiers, you'd have the Dil (and Marks) for the gear.

It doesn't... so the prices are just "really?" on everything.

They work fine on the torps. They seem to work....intermittently on energy weapons.

I think "...because the procs didn't work consistently" is more accurate.
