B'rel BOP allows me to bob and weave in combat. I like the ability to cloak wheel around to a targets other side and get right back into the fight. I feel like it allows me to poke at the target until I find the kink in the armor. And it looks really cool.

I like my Qin and Tor'kaht because they are built for war. They are rugged, they are nasty, and by god do they hit hard. They aren't the prettiest ships in the universe, and they are certainly not the most well-mannered, but you will never find ships that are more willing and able to get the job done. Even if it's just maintenance of satellites, or convoy guard duty, or (heaven forbid) a transport run, they will get it done with honor and for the empire. However, should they be given the opportunity to fight? You better get out of their gunsights, or you will be destroyed.
(I think I just described every KDF ship there is with that little statement XD).
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
My Fleet Hoh'sus is death from the moment I decloak. Not my death of course, but those unfortunate to become it's prey. Beam Overloard, a burst from its cannons, and a salvo of torpedoes. Afterwards, the target is floating space junk while I leave welcoming presents in the form of a tricobalt mine and Chroniton Spreads.
It isn't the prettiest or most elegant looking bird, but it is built to kill, and it succeeds often.
There's a reason it is called the I.K.S. Death Hawk, captained by Sanzibel Iton, a Joined Trill Tactical officer.
Still flying my Negh'Var that I got for free. My ship is very nice and holds up well. Got beam arrays, packing cannons, and torpedoes. So I can take out most foes with no problems. I love those slow "Boss Battleships". I eat them up for breakfast with no problems. I have yet to see a big ship last long with my cannons firing at them.
I'm still debating what C-Store to buy. Hard choice to replace my Negh'Var. It was going to be a K't'inga, but they made it into a Fleet Ship. So that went that idea. For someone who don't do fleet actions due to life and time allowed to play. That was a bummer. I really wanted a higher K't'inga to use. After looking at the C store offerings I really don't see anything I want. Other than the Grumba.
This is why I'm working on the Breen ship. That will be my other ship. I'm glad STO brought it out. I see a perfect KDF ship to play with.
I don't really like the Klingon ships, that's' why I'm racing for a Breen cruiser.
I'd have a Gorn cruiser if Cryptic ever bothers to finish the KDF, my Vor'cha is ok, but I'd rather have a Breen or Gorn Cruiser.
Join Date : September 2010. Still boldly going forward because Cryptic didn't install reverse.
Warning : I am currently unsupervised. Anyone who knows me will inform you that this will most likely lead to trouble. =3

Yeah, I use a similar build, though I leave out the trics and chronitons. It's effing awesome when timed right. Many an overconfident feddie has fallen to my ambush alphas.
I should look into the trics and chronitons. I wouldn't have room for abilities to support 'em, but they might be more useful than the pair of turrets I carry in the rear.

To be honest, I don't think those tactics really make the most use out of the B'rel retro. Yeah, it's perfectly suitable for it, since the stats are similar to the Hegh'ta. . .but that Enhanced Battlecloak is capable of so much more. Drop tric mines on an embattled Fed cruiser or escort, fire off chronitons/transphasics/plasma torps to generally mess with the enemy, use Hargh'peng torpedoes in order to damage the enemy slightly more with the secondary radiation explosion, and so on.
The problem with these particular tactics is that they're mostly solo maneuvers. B'rel retros running this sort of setup don't really fit into a team, unless they're running lots of chronitons to slow enemies down. They specialize in trying to take out enemies with buffed tric mines and otherwise harassing feddies into burning their hull heals.

I found that a cloaked scatter of Transphasic torpedoes paired with DPB drop of transphasic mines can be a nice force multiplier for my team in pugs for precisely that reason-it forces the feds to burn their hull heals, draws off pet spam, and clears pet spam faster-after which, decloak-alpha with BO, CRF, and HYT for the assist-you'll never get solo kills, but you can do serious harm in support of your wingmates.
