I think a good rule would be, ANYTHING you get out of game is either tradeable or account bound.

I also think that would pump up the usability of +1 ship consoles, if you could deck out alts for leveling.

I would like to chime in on this.

One character opened enough boxes to buy the Klingon warrior skirt, and had 7 crystals left over. Another character got the Ferengi merchant jacket, and had 4 crystals left over. It's been about 50 boxes or more since I received more than 3 crystals per opening.

So it would be really useful if I could move those 7 crystals to another character! I agree that I should not be able to trade or sell them with another player, but trading between my characters is not trading with another player.

Perfect World, if you could change this it would be a small thing that would contribute to keeping me playing.

The costume pieces come in tradeable (before they're opened) boxes, so you could have bought both pieces on one character, and then mailed one, still in its box, to the other. Then you would have eleven crystals left over on one character.

It would be OK if everything in the Lobi store came in a tradeable box; unfortunately, the ship components don't.

I think Lobi Crystals, Dilithium, Credits, GPL, Fleet credits, Omega, Romulian marks...should all be account bound.

Now this does put limits on things.
1) Your dilithium refining per day would be much lower as it would be account now.

2) peoples characters would be forced to all be in one fleet at time, but this would then show one total fleet credits contributed on the leader board. As I have seen in some fleets the leaders are ll from one to three people with like 10-20 characters totalling some 3-8 million fleet credits, more than they really need.

3) by making fleet credits, omega, and romulian marks account driven, the rewards could be made smaller while still earning the rewards over a longer period of time. Its very easy to fill up the reward, then have to wait 20hrs to do it again.
If there were less it might take you 20 hours to earn up the marks for the next set of experience. Yet now its account driven, and with lower dilithium refinment less would be needed. Because you still have to use Dilithium for buying stuff too, that could remain unchanged.

4) GPL needs to be expanded more, maybe as a weird set exchange, or inter space stock market maybe. Because when you look at the exchange and such people really are all like greedy little ferengi's anyway looking for profit right? You could do a 10,000GPL=1 fleet, 1romulian, or 1 omega mark conversion. Ya its a lot of GPL, but its another way to earn them, and 10k is a lot of server time playing a game. Or a Dabo! could reward you with a lobi crystal as a pay out, and other very hard wins could reward fleet credits, or marks for playing.

In the end account banks, money, etc. is very helpful yet also a pain. For one you can still have bound to character stuff...but your storage would be less. The more characters you have the more money you will have to pay to have that huge bank so more money for PW. This would also eventually lower prices on stuff too, as collectors could not keep so much in storage for the exchange and the prices will be less on things.

Energy credits can be moved between characters on the account bank, and dilithium can be moved between characters on the dilithium exchange, so both of those are account bound, Lobi should be account bound, and the bank should be able to take latinum, however the others are more of an indication of character progress "reputation your captain has with a certain faction etc"

Its not or ever will be because all characters get a small amount of Free Lobi Crystals, if it was account bound people would just make, claim, bank, delete, repeat for unlimited Lobi without spending a cent.

Lobi is part of a gambling scheme, removing that small quest would mean players would no longer be herded into the Lobi store.

hmm would it be possible to just make that little quest once for account? honestly that 1 character bound lobi is pretty worthless, just do it once per account for the preview then make lobi account bound, that would be awesome

This tree has been barked up since the Lobi crystals were introduced.


As long as there are "free" ways (Ferengi giving out hacked boxes, Lobi hidden in FE reruns) to get Lobi it will NOT become an account bound currency.


Personally I'd rather they axe the "free" Lobi entirely and just make it account bound but that won't happen.
