Windows 8 is pretty damn goofy, thou. Well, the metro display is goofy, and the classic desktop lacks a traditional windows start button.
I recommend you download "Classic Shell" from sourceforge if you like windows 7 looks but have to run windows 8. It gives you a true start bar, and you can set it to boot to the classic desktop instead of that stupid metro app-tile abomination. Its free, too.
Stay with Windows 7 while some people are lucky with it working fine.
There are still issues with drivers among many others problems so just wait.
Few members in our fleet have installed it with many issues like lag and bad audio.
If Windows 7 works then stay with it, and avoid the headaches until its ready.
