NX class is heavily influenced by the Akira class (basically the same ship, just flipped). So how about offering it as a skin for people who purchased it on either the Heavy Escort or Heavy Escort Carrier? I'm already happy I can fly a Tier 5 Akira, but I also miss the old NX class.

I don't really agree, for the same reasons why I don't think there should be a tier 5 connie. There are reasons why these designs were moth balled and Starfleet moved onto bigger and better things.

Pretty much this. If we can't have a T5 Connie, I don't think a T5 NX would work either.

On the other hand...what about those holo-emitters you can buy for GPL? That could be a reasonable workaround.

no, it is primarely used for softening the skin before taking it off the body, and to make a coat out of it.
