I wouldn't necessarily need to be paying $25. Fleet Ship Modules are around 4.5k (if not a bit more) on the exchange right now. All I need are four, or five of them (which I can already afford).

Regardless of everything, this is merely a request. Nothing may come of it (I'm hopeful it will, but I've got to be realistic). If you don't ask, you don't get, so I asked with optimism.

You missed the part where I said I liked my cannons.

Fleet Modules are only good for ships that are available in the Fleet Shipyard.

No, I didn't. Because the Heavy Destroyer is able to use cannons too.

If you want a Cruiser that can use Cannons, get a Galaxy Dreadnaught.

The Kumari has some potential to re-fill this niche (though with Cryptic, you never know how far out of left field they're going to come).

It's possible, we shall soon find out.

Because this game is already a giant parade of cash shop stupidity, with barely enough playable content to keep folks interested. Diverting resources from creating more content to effectively re-skinning an already existing ship would not only be a waste of time, it would likely not be a financial success (there's only so many ways you can wrap the same product).

Let's face it, Cryptic is already struggling to put out finished content as it is. Having them jump around trying to fulfill every skin request (especially for a faction that's eyeball deep in terms of starship variety) won't help matters.

I'm pretty much convinced that they're going to toss it in a lockbox unfortunately.

True, but there are few Starfleet ships that aren't available as fleet ships. Name me one (from neither the future, nor past) that isn't.

Edit: Starter Cruiser, NX, Constitution, and Oberth are excluded.

That's great, but check my post. I was quoting (and replying too) the guy talking about the Excelsior there.

Unfortunately, here we are restricted to Scatter Volley and Rapid Fire 1 only. Hardly seems worth it. Besides, I don't specifically want a Cruiser, I would like an Escort with a little big of an Engineering buff. Hence my proposal.

They don't need to touch the skin. All they need to is alter some code and create a new ship slot. I've done a bit of programming in college, and trust me when I say my proposal really isn't that hard. If they know what they're doing (I'd assume they do) it would take an hour, if that.

The Andorian Cruiser? Nah. I can't see them putting that in a lock box. The reason these other alien ships are in the boxes is cause CBS allegedly didn't want every Tom, **** and Harry flying around in them. The Vulcan ship they didn't have a problem with (Vulcan is a member of Starfleet, it stands to reason they'd have a couple of their own ships still in service; same applies to the Andorian). I'd be very surprised if the Andorian ship was a lock box ship.

Sounds like there are already options ingame - they're just not as.. accessable.. or appealing as you'd like.

Me, I'm still waiting (hopelessly) for a nice science ship with a commander tactical boff slot(to fit Dispersal Pattern Beta III). It's taken this long just to get a nice, aggressive science ship like the Vesta. Count yourself lucky you at least have close options to choose from.

That said, the Fleet Patrol Escort is a fine ship. Even with its bridge layout, it's perfectly able to tank an elite tactical cube for the time it takes to dust one. It's not as lenient as a cruiser, but stuff won't be beating on you as long once you've got your cannons roaring.

Creating a new model, tying in LoD skins, skins from various sets, damage vfx, weapon hardpoints, engine trails and more will take a hell of a lot more than an hour. They're not going to take an existing ship, change two data points and re-sell it for 25 bucks.

It's coming with a bridge. No ship released post Odyssey/Bortasqu that comes with a bridge has been a non-lockbox ship. Add in the known demand for it, and it's 100% ripe for yet another PWE cash grab.
