# 1 BOFF Customization Broken?
12-30-2012, 01:53 PM
Over the last month or so I've been having increasing problems with customizing the appearance of my BOFFs as for some mysterious reason different pieces of the costumes have been linked so that when you change a color option on one it changes the corresponding (if one exists) color option on all the linked pieces. And the number of them that have been linked together has been increasing. At one point in time it was just certain gloves and belts - and only occassionally for some reason - now it's extended to the point where when I'm trying to modify a KDF BOFF it affects gloves/hands, gauntlets, chest armor, shoulder pads, belts, and even jackets.

The weirdest thing about it is that this linking of parts has not extended to any of my Captain characters. I can mix and match parts and colors to the extent that those colors and parts are available to my captains. If I want to have one gauntlet that's blue and one that's red? I can do that with my captain still, but not my BOFFs.

Has anyone else had this problem?

No fixes or workarounds you use? (Other than making all your BOFFs the same species and gender as your captain anyway?)

I only have problems with colors of the clothing, where other items change color to be the same as the last thing i tried to change. The boffs themselves (specie and gender) stays the same, but i have to run a simple colorpattern to make them look okay clotheswise. I tend to go all black.

Not heard about a workaround yet. Much less a proper fix.

I have problems when I go from uniform to off duty. Not only does it change the clothes, but it changes my hair and a few other features that I then have to reset and of course it costs me ec to do that.

This one is an easy fix I've found. Cancel the change, then go back in to that same costume slot. 9 times out of 10 it won't reset a second time when you switch.

Edit:

Actually, this used to work for the BOFF issue in the OP too, but it doesn't anymore.

I am having this issue too. It is very frustrating. When I get a new boff I can't edit the uniform like I want to. Specifically the Collar, Uniform, Shoulder pads, belt, all seem to be linked now. It did not use to be this way. Please fix this bug Cryptic.

Been happening for a long while, now. Just another of many unfixed bugs.
