Most lock boxes give a max of 5 lobi crystals bar the Ferengi Lock box. That will give you up to 20 lobi crystals!!!!! So for those of you who are a tad off spending the money (or getting keys and boxes for free in game through grinding) on a few lock boxes will get you the ship. You can sell the rest of the lock box contents on the exchange and make your money back in EC.

As for the race itself, honestly I have read many a thread whereby players have complained in general about how hard it is. (not that you are, just saying) I dunno of the majority of you realize it but you can get Q to transform you into a four legged beastie of some sort (or an Undine) and run the race that way. No slipping and easier to control. Not to mention, four legs are quicker than two. There is nothing to the race and this is coming from someone who is not a 'gamer' by definition.

As for the ship, it is worth the grind. I got mine earlier than most because I had so much lobi saved up. In any case, best of luck.

its a cool ship and all, but its not quite what u might expect.
tweaking this thing is quite difficult and flying it is underwhelming.
yet its nice to have.

for free its nice. its not worth lobi crystals at all though.
so dont be upset if u miss it. ive run the race on 4 toons, but now that i finished and tried it with diffirent characters and settings, i totally regret doing it for 4 chars.
1 would have been enough.

Hull Integrity Skill in your skill-tree. I guess based on it's only 10k hp he probably has it at level 6 or 7.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.

I got it on my main eng cruiser toon. Only one I bothered to get this puppy on, and am quite enjoying how I setup my beam boat (AP Mk XII Borg arrays, MACO Mk XII, other assorted STF / C-Store toys,) and am quite surprised that this boat 'feels' like the gift that it's supposed to be, from devs that aren't known for 'giving' much away. (Surprised a lil, that I didn't need 50 C-points or something, to unlock the racing, given how good this breen vessel is.) Saying this, don't expect to fully tank in STF elites, since this is a tac-cruiser battlecruiser hybrid vessel, meant more for tac use than eng use, though I as an eng have more than enough ability to use this vessel.

I don't have sympathy for those that were around, and couldn't make the time. (Which is why I don't have the TNG Worf sash... oh well...) I 'do' have sympathy for those that couldn't log on, due to the holidays, or due to technical issues that plauge this game, for certain users. Course every person's computer is different from other users, like grains of sand and whatnot. However I think an extension is unnecessarily. I 'do' think this ship should be made available for 'next' Winterland Q Fest whatever, for those to look forward to, 'next' Christmas. No reason not to, as I see it. One can really plan, and hold onto those silly pics, from this year, for next, and get the Breen ship next year, really early.

Oh, and be sure you have the Breen Boff as your main tac officer in slot, since it's cool to see a Breen face pop up, while doing missions. =^^=

I've missed a few days also but I will have the ship tomorrow. I have friends that started a week late and can easily get enough from running the races solely to finish in time with the ship. I have yet to fly one but I have blown up one a friend of mine has. It's a tough ship to crack because he knows his stuff but that can apply to any ship flown by the right person. Don't be surprised to see this ship in a lock box in the future to offer up a chance to those who haven't been able to get one during the winter event.

Based off the Jem bugship (the last Winter Wonderland prize, though random), I'd guess opening some future DOff pack promotion would either give Pictures (random or fixed amount) or random chance to get one complete from opening packs, though that version would almost have to be trade-able.

I wish Q pictures were tradable. So yeah, I for one am not pushing for the Breen ship, but I played the races anyway and got a stack of pictures. Now what? I can't trade them. I can't sell them. I can't really do anything with them. Putting them on the exchange would not only give me a way to profit from them, it would also help people who missed too many days or joined too late.

well ive been runing it every day i can posibly get to computer what with cristmass and newyears and i still have 5 runs to go
a 12 or a 8 hr timer would of alowed me to run it alot more relaiably and say 20 days to run it on ending at cristmass, im sure im not the only 1 with a life and the need to do stuff apart from play vidio games, 1/2 the time i do get to log on its a few hrs early or a day after i could of claimed it which sofar has cost me 10 days at curent average ill be about 40-80 pictures short
if they were tradable id of had a few by now have 15 chars but locking them to 1 char, like all the rep system means i dont play 14 of my 15 chars anymore

As much as I sympathize with people who have busy lives and what not...

It takes literallly 5 minutes from double clicking the STO icon on my desktop, to running the race, to logging out. 5 minutes.

If you're out on a desert island and cant get to a computer, fine. 12 hours might also have been a better cooldown. But come on... if you're around for the 5 weeks of the event, 2 of which you can miss and still get it if you take that 5 minutes to do it. Do it when you get out of the shower while waiting for the water to boil lol...

It's very much a tactical ship, though the Boff layout makes it most comparable to the MVAE. The universal ensign is nice if you don't want to run torpedoes though, it allows for swapping that to another Eng or Sci skill. Compared to the MVAE, it has a bit less turn and inertia (13 vs 15 and 50 vs 70). For reference, the Chimera's turn is 14, so this is even slightly less agile than that. The loss of maneuverability may or may not be an issue in bringing dual cannons to bear. I had a bit of trouble keeping up with my friend's Defiant (obviously) when trying the ship out in PvP, but I expect PvE wouldn't be a problem. It'd be great at taking on large, mostly stationary capital ships and tanking their return fire better than a typical escort. Compared to Battle Cruisers on the Klingon side, the maneuverability is actually better and the Boff setup more favoring of Tactical.

So, while this is a unique ship, it's probably not worth getting super upset over if you missed it. It's something between a Battle Cruiser and a heavier escort, with a slight Science leaning similar to the MVAE. And, like others said, there was ample opportunity. I'm honestly surprised so many people missed it considering how little you really had to do to get it. I figured holiday travel would interfere with some, but even a busy work schedule shouldn't have been a problem if you really wanted to get it.
