Hi guys

i was wondering if some one could help me as im having trouble with the cryptic launcher
i have had this before but solved it so i got this problem again and tried to fix it as before and it didnt work


the problem is that when i click the icon/shortcut thing it starts the "Cryptic Launcher autoupdate" so this is normal untill it trys to connect the 2nd and 3rd time which it then pops up with the error messages "Recived a message in a state of no response" or the most common " Unable to connect" dispite me having my pc right next to the modem and it being fully connected.

If any one has ANY advice i would appreciate it.

Yes, my advice is to read the other two popular threads in this forum.
Basically if you download a replacement file, it will probably solve it. Otherwise, keep reading!

How did you get it to work because I have looked at many forums and none seem to help....

Well, another way to fix this is to delete one file from your Cryptic folder and that will FORCE the update thus "fixing" what you didn't know about and finally allowing you to play the game. It's not always a sure fire thing, but it's worked many times in the past.

if you have teamviewr or any remote app running . this will cause the problem. i turned it off and now its working.

I am new to STO and have been trying to play the game for a week now. It worked few times but usually I cannot seem to get pass by the launcher. I either get a blank white window that sometimes says "Loading. Please wait." or I get to the login/password prompt and when I try to login (click "Login") the launcher crashes and I get this "CrypticError: Oops!". Been looking for some helpful information and a solution to this big issue but havent had any luck. Anyone have an idea?

Like I said. Occasionally the game will start and I can play. But 95% of the time I get the launcher crash error. The game itself, once I am ingame works perfectly.

I am running Win8 pro 64bit btw.

EDIT: Sometimes when I get the blank white launcher window another IE (which is IE10 on Windows 8) window will pop up after a while with URL saying "res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm"
