# 1 Jem'Hadar build
01-04-2013, 01:05 PM
I'm of 2 opinions about whether to put this in ship builds or PvE, but since I focus almost completely on PvE, I am uninterested in PvP builds.
I have one of the Jem'Hadar bug ships, completely Jem'Hadar'ed out. Full Jem'Hadar set and all Fleet polaron weapons, except for a fore and aft Fleet quantorp launcher. Given the baseline of the ship, is staying with the all-Jem'Hadar-all the-time build sensible, or for PvE, is there a superior build that takes advantage of some quirk of the ship?
"Susse-thrai" had been the name bestowed upon her, half in anger, half in affection, by her old crew on Bloodwing; the keen-nosed, cranky, wily old she-beast, never less dangerous than when you thought her defenseless, and always growing new teeth far back in her throat to replace the old ones broken in biting out the last foe's heart.
Romulans: left one homeworld, lost another, third time's the charm?

Shipyard or Fleetyard depending on your faction would be the better place. Only a quick note that you're PvE focused would be needed. The vast majority of players (I think around 4/5ths was the last estimate given by the devs) are PvE only.

The Jem set isn't that great for PvE, as it's largest benefit 'Victory is Life' on a Jem bug is moot for the most part (most stuff PvE doesn't have buffs to strip, or will be dead long before it'd have a good chance to proc).

Well one bit of advice I could offer for PVE is use 2 damage control doffs and run EPTW and EPTS with near 100% up time on both.

Also I would use scatter volley 3 and 1 with torps spread 3 to constantly hit multiple targets at once. If timed properly most smaller npcs, torps and other deadly targetable weapons coming at you will never get close.

Also just to note that a solid PvP build will always do well in PvE. Could they be tweaked to be more effective in PvE. Absolutely and that's what I gave you above. Before I got involved with Pvp I believed my builds to be good but after I adapted my PvP play against NPCs I was 10 times the killing machine and 10 times more survivable. I'm not telling you to start PvPing but looking at some of those builds and adapting them against the faction you're fighting could only help.

Omegas (2) piece tetryon glider is superior to the Polaron % increase of the Jem set. From a energy type perspective, you're better off with antiproton, Romulan or Disruptors(since damage is the primary function of an escort in PvE)

So yeah, the Jem set with Polaron weapons isn't really optimal, although its a solid choice.

this is kinda my pvp build. some skill points are off. also some skill points you dont need.

i run tet glider with the adapted maco sheilds. i run 2 con doffs for my omega. it kinda is a must to beef up dps. that omega 3 is deadly. and math shows with omega 3 and 2x rapid fires2 is the best possibly dps. parse it if you want to see that for yourself. now i do use delta because in pvp beta is usless. but for pve delta is good as well. it will add resist to your ship or you can go with a beta to put on npc. you dont need points in bats or subsystem rep. really the tact skill t5 starship energy wep you dont need any points. that skill is not working. so the points are wasted. ( its been tested on tirbble) bug reports will not be sent due to beilef the server will not beable to handle the calcs on that skill, ie major server lag if it had too.

I've found that switching to romulan weaponry and using omega or adapted outshines polarons and Jem set in PVE. It's pricey but worth it. You get your 7.6% damage boost still, with plasma burn, with disruptor proc, with the same standard base DPS more or less, with a considerable shield drain via omega, with a considerable 3 set bonus for omega, or a nice torp dmg boost + other perks with adapted, in comparison to polarons and Jem set, minus other items that both set ups can use i.e. crit console, torp launcher. It's a shutout victory by the romulan setup for DPS purposes, for the time being.

not really, even for pve you should have accx2 dhc. accx2 with a crith. but the best is accx3. now i am liking the rom engines. the boost to attack patterns is very nice
