Could we PLEASE get more difficult STFs with some kind of access limitation?

I mean I really really try to explain to people how to do the STF missions and stuff but it seems like some dont even have the chat window opend and just ruin it for everyone else.

Especially INTO THE HIVE often just ends with me leaving after the Queen ship regenerating again and again to full health cause people dont watch out for keeping at least one player alive to avoid that.

Another problem is that lots of people jut dont do enough dmg to really help in completing the mission. I mean people doing like 500-1000 dps when I do 10k dps or more is just hopeless. With enough good other player you can compensate for that but in the end it would be nice to put some restrictions on the amount of dps someone should have before being allowed into elite stfs.

And by adding ultra elite STFs with some higher dps requirement and also having completed all elite stfs optionals and well higher live values sphere numbers and so on.

This would be really nice because elite stfs got kind of boring and it would just keep at least some people out of instances for which they are just not good enough. (their ships and equipment, not necessarily the player himself)

In the Ground Ultra Elite STFs you fight a couple of Armeks at once all the time.

In Space Ultra Elite STFs you're instantly and eternally instagibbed by invisitorps.

I'm not joking.

They're public games. What were you expecting?

The idea that another tier of STF's with access limitations somehow different from the first two would solve this issue is ridiculous.

"Well having 2 tiers didn't solve this because it's an issue inherent to public matches of any level in any video game ever created. Clear solution is add a third tier". Does not compute.

If it bugs you that much join a fleet.

well yeah. though that low a dps (1000) is unusal. the avg low players are around 2-3k dps, which is atleast useful, fortunately the sub 2k group is not a big base of players.

also I just had a guy who dealt 900 dps while he did 1300 hps, which was amazing (though again, it was only useful because I took all aggro, and he was healing me, while I basically made up the dps loss from him, so its a pretty niche build, but it can work )

Requirements for ULTRA elite (proposed)

All White build
Canon faction ship (non zen store non lock box)
No slotted Doffs above white
No non standard (zen store) consoles

20 PERFECT runs on elite on that STF (optional gained no fatalities)

Rules for play (suggested)

1 life (you die you fail)
Comms on at all times
log out you are banned for 48 hours (account wide)
Disconnected you reconnect in the SAME instance if you get back on before it finishes OTHERWISE you get the ban
log outs and disconnects do not count as deaths

Rewards
for perfect completion (no deaths no failures) five times elite reward
partial completion same as elite reward
failure Nothing

sound fair?

Sounds like an elitist circlejerk to me. If you hate elite pugs so much, only play in organized stfs. And if you want a challenge, play with only common gear. The only way to calculate DPS is through third party programs, and I doubt that is solid enough evidence to impose some official ingame limitation on particular content.

i'm a supporter of the reintroduction of the old stfs (ground and space combined)
this is how i think it should be done:
- combine ground and space stfs to a 45 min to 60 min mission (basically the old stfs, only slightly reshaped)
- no public queue for them, only accessable via the private queue system, or the only way to start them is to preform a grp and fly to the corresponding system (as it used to be)
- mob level 52 (as currently in hive elite)
- add a weekly mission to complete all 4 (rewards 500 omega marks, 5000 dilithium or a very rare MK XII lootbox)
- add a daily mission for one stfs (cycles through all 4 of them. example: tuesday is hive day, wednesday is infected day, ...)
each daily mission rewards 100 Omega marks or 50 fleet marks, a MKXI very rare lootbox and 960 dilithium

*there should also be a weekly mission for the current stfs, complete all 8 (or all 8 optionals) and get omega marks (or fleet marks) dilithium and very rare MKXII gear.
maybe if you do it on normal, instead of very rare mk xi gear you get mk x

**something similar could be done for the fleet actions: weekly mission for completing all of them once (or seperate space and ground), rewards 250 fleet marks 3000 dilithium and very rare MKXII gear.

yeah it works, but generally it is better to have a dedicated tank that heals himself only and tanks the bosses. this tank can easily still pull between 3 to 4k dps (depending on gear) while everybody else has an easy time dealing dmg (i mean escorts that can sit infornt of a gate or cube without getting hit once). the idea of a dedicated heal/support ship doesn't work aswell in PVE as it works in PVP.

also a big downer for a dedicated healer/supporter is the target switching. since sto does not support a main target and secondary targeting system that greatly would support healers, you are allways forced to switch between your target and the target for your heals (unless it is not yourself). this alone makes it kind of unpractical to play a healer in PVE.
Go pro or go home

The original STFs should be added as Episode Replay due to the story content that seems to be missed with the current STFs. Keep the rewards the same as the original rewards for the original STFs. So completing the original Infected would give Borg Engines Mk X.

If you find elite STFs too easy, then there is always the option to reduce your quality of equipment. Having a new level of difficulty with new or better rewards will result in the same problems the elite stfs suffer from. Namely incompetents and afkers that want better rewards.

The one thing they need to do that would clean up STF's alot is the Elite "unlock" idea. Have a pre-req of so many normal STF's with all optionals gained before you can "unlock" the Elite. Or like the Accolades have to where they have to kill "X" amount for Borg in STF's before it unlocks. This would keep idiots that have no idea what the mission is about or what they are doing from being there in the 1st place. It would also cut down on AFK players, who would go to all that trouble just to unlock a mission to go AFK in? Other nice features would be that you can't close chat while in SFT. And while I'm wishing how about "ERROR: You are only allowed to equip one energy type before entering into STF Queue.

mmmm, NO, account wide ban are you serious? yep lets be elitist, you want hard que a private Cure Elite match where everyone agrees to your suggestion. if you die you voluntarily stay away from game for 48hrs
