The sooner the Ambassador class releases the better.

That way the people asking for it the last three years will be satisfied and we can return focus to modern ships that should be in game.

This is an updated version of the model, and still no Torpedo launchers sooo, don't know what people are talking about.

She was called ambassador class, maybe they just added very limited weapons so it can be a ship of diplomacy, and wanted a beam boat.

Its hard to say, however that is pretty much the only place were it could and should be.

The image you linked is not of a well taken photograph.

if that really is the final product, we are looking at a modeling double standard. other then the shape, the original steamrunner filming model is so low quality not much other then color and shaped can be gleamed from it, yet the model in game is very high detail, with artist interpritation. the ambassador filming model was built in a hurry and was never meant to have lots of close inspection shots of it, so its was built to a lesser level of detail then the main hero ships. in this case, obvious details were left out for no other reason then the low quality filming model didn't have them. why would you leave out some of the most basic details, just because a low quality filming model lacked them, in this case but not others?

the second rebuilt Yamaguchi model had a bit more detail, and was clearly a refit over the original. its also what modern ambassador class in the 2360s looked like. the Enterprise C look is the older, original look.

torp launchers, and escape pod placement on the bottom of the saucer are my only real complaints, i would really like the Yamaguchi style components too though. but really, no torp launchers? right above the deflector on the neck, and below the impulse engine is were the fore and aft should be. since these ship models do little else other then shoot weapons, how could it be chosen not to place viable torp launchers? i thought CBS said weapons had to come from some kind of port, and not just from nothing.

The Yamaguchi is not the Enterprise so if we are talking about the NCC-1701-C then you can only use what is on screen, not what was later added or you would have the Excelsior being as the Enterprise-C (that is what caused then to make a model for the Excelsior for Voyager and then since it was not adequate a CGI model with the glowing nacelles).

I dont think the argument should be "I prefer Probert's concept and so I will fight to have despite the fact its NOT the NCC-1701-B", I dont think this design is bad even if there seems to be some missing details, however this is what we have to work as:

I found a studio model pic that shows 2 launcher domes that are a bit darker than the rest of the front of the neck here.

I did see the Yamaguchi was missing the 2 domes.

it site also has more pic as well of both versions.

the ambassador source material are nothing but are low quality models.

they lack finer details, like torp launchers and escape pod hatches on the underside

trying to say that is reason enough for a nice, high quality in game model not to have basic features makes absolutely no sense. especially when in the past in game ship models based on very low quality models have had artist interpretation detail such as that added
