I have never heard such crap info and now we see his contribution to this thread. Evidently he didn't like what he saw and applied the same logic to the rest of ya.

People with strong backbones these days...lol
I've seen him post similarly questionable advice in other threads.

I ended up muting him as well...could not stand watching other people take him seriously...

I am not the end all be all ... But I do have a decent amount of knowledge on what works. Helped a couple of guys with their setups and next thing I knew they made sure to make me part of their group.

well the chel grett is one of those ships that takes time to master I love my Fleet escort retrofit I took off my eng consoles from my excel and my tact from my armitage and add 2 shield capacitors and become a very happy saber pilot with a wepons sustaining power grid.

Sure, they have a very good initial burst, but then they quickly gas out and must wait for weapon power to return before they start dealing max DPS again. EPtW usually helps at the cost of putting EPtS on cooldown.

While this next build is primarily cannon-based, it corrects the all-cannon energy issue by replacing 1 DHC and 1 aft turret with a Romulan Hyper-plasma torpedo launcher and Kinetic Cutting Beam:

Ship Gear: Full Borg Space Set
-Weapons-
Fore = 3 Plasma DHC's + 1 Romulan Hyper Plasma Torpedo Launcher
Aft = 3 Plasma Turrets + 1 Kinetic Cutting Beam
Devices = Red Matter Capacitor, Subspace Field Modulator
Consoles: Tachyokinetic Converter, Rule 62 Multipurpose Combat Console, Borg Assimilated Universal Module, Field Generator, Breen Power Dissipator OR Romulan Science Console, Plasma Infuser x4

BOFFS:
Ensign Univ: EPtS1
Commander Tac: TT1, CSV1, HYT3, AP-Beta3
Lt.Tac: TT1, CSV1
Lt.Eng: EPtS1, Aux2SIF1
Lt.CmdrSci: HE1, ST1, GW1

DOFSS: 3 Attack Pattern Conn-doffs, 2 Projectile Weapon Officers (or 2 AP + 3 PWO's... your choice)

The Hyper-plasma torp launcher scores full damage at all ranges and deals 30k per torpedo crit when HYT3 is used. Its burst hits multiple targets pulled together via Gravity Well. It can also be spammed non-stop, and torpedoes will seek new targets if the original target is destroyed first.

The Kinetic Cutting Beam does not do well vs. raised shields, but it does score double listed damage vs. exposed hulls. However, its primary purpose is to proc Omega Weapon Amplifier and combo with the Borg set Tractor Beam. OWA increases weapon subsystem power, reduces all energy weapon drain to a very small amount, and OWA can stack with muliple procs! This allows your weapons maintain high power levels while firing, thereby maximizing energy weapon DPS output.

The full Borg space set gives you the Cutting Beam + Borg Tractor combo, delivering 4k total hull damage per second for 10 seconds, or 40k damage, once shields are breached. The trick is to wait until shields are down before triggering the Borg Tractor.

Pretty much said what i said but better.

how do you like using the Borg set besides the added TB? I tried it and while i loved the 40k dmg i could do with the TB and cutting beam i just didn't feel that there were enough shields.

Besides when you run REGEN shields you have to have power to shields to max the regen rate.. Whereas with other shields I can run the remainder of my power to Aux to maximize my heals..

The Borg shields work quite well for me, even in ESTF's. I only assign 40 base energy to shields, and with spec bonuses, total shield power is in the 60's. I also run two EPtS1's in non-stop rotation with two TacticalTeam1's. I also tend to run max defense at 70.8.

I've also tested the Breen Chel Grett with MACO XII shields. I found that MACO had better staying power against big hits, but Borg Shields recovered much more quickly while taking a lot of incoming enemy weapon fire.

Ooooh OP??? Where art thou OP? We want to hear your responses to all these comments that counter your post. Come OP, make our day OP.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Tired of Wasting EC and Time trying to get Superior Romulan Operative BOffs? Here's a cheap and easy way to get them, with an almost 100% chance of success.

Lots can be said about the borg shield and what it should be. Especially now considering it costs so much to get. I kind of understood the crappy stats on it when i first got it since it only cost 5 Encrypted Data chips which took a few STFs to get. But I seriously think the stats for the borg set need an Overhaul to bring it back on a competitive level with the other end game sets. Minimum Plasma resist should be 20% and I'd even give it the famous Maco 10% all damage resistance. This in my opinion would make it much like a borgified MACO shield..

But while im ranting I can also say that since i can put my weapons on Autofire.. Why not my Boff abilities? I really don't want to set up a macro so i can have my EPTS rotating constantly and I don't feel like i should. I guess it would make too much sense to imagine me sitting in my captains chair and saying "Hey chief Engineer guy! Keep rotating EPTS like our lives depend on it!!"

Anyway! back on Topic. Yes the Breen ship IMHO is great! best free ship to date.

That would be more-or less the same as having an AI play the game for you wouldn't it? :p

It would be more like right.

Or make it so that when you have certain abilities set to auto, they fire under certain conditions..

Like EPTS activates if a shield facing falls below x % or something in that nature would be cool.

No sir, I wouldn't mind a little more Automation when it comes to commanding my 24th century starship.
