Each time someone equips RCS consoles on this ship, the Egg Bringer sheds a tear.

Do not need. Put something in there somewhat useful. EPS or something. Leave it empty if you have to. Just don't RCS it.

EDIT: As a little aside there's also a doff now that when you use Emergency to Engines it gives a boost to ID. It really seems to make my Fed Assault Cruiser extra zippy. I mean if you were THAT concerened over movement in this ship I'm SURE you'd be using that ability anyway so maybe just one of those doffs would put minds at rest.
If I don't respond to posts on this forum don't be offended. I don't sub or follow any of them.

For PvE, you don't need any high turnrate ... for PvP you should consider beam setup (you will be outmanouvered frequently by escorts).

Instead of 2 RSC, I would go plasmonic leech, Borg and 2x Neutronium in Eng, than 2 field gen in Science (or 1 field and Romulan) and and what to put in the tactical console slot should be very clear ...

... of course rainbow power!

It's also hard to go wrong with the kar'fi as well. Excellent tac slots and sci slots, good dps and good utility

Kar'fi looks like a beast. I've been very impressed playing against it in PVP; it's the one ship class I've *never* beaten in my fed escort at some point. Last time I played against one I was so mercilessly destroyed by it it wasn't even funny.

I was thinking about a cruiser mainly because while I am a tac, I don't want to have another escort (my fed tac flies an escort and I want a change of pace), so I don't really want a raptor or BoP, the latter of which is probably too delicate for me to keep alive anyway?but I'm open to any and all suggestions.
Carrier: Vo'Quv
Battle Carrier: Kar'fi
Battle Cruiser: Vorcha (and Fleet version. Also look for the Mirror ships)
Escort: Qin (Mirror Qin is dirt cheap on the exchange)
Raider: Hegh'ta (or B'rel if you can handle it)

Mirror ships (Exchange - Reward Packs) are dirt cheap. A lot of us fill up our ship roster with those to use as 'storage' ships to keep extra weapons and whatnot. So when you rank up and get the free T4 ship, try not to get anything that can be replaced by a cheap 'Mirror'. There's also the Guramba (or GSD) or Fleet versions of the Scrouge.

Among the advantages the KDF has over the FEDs, superior ships and consoles.

BOP Survivability? Put on a brace of Neutronium & Monotanium armor consoles and make sure you pack 'Hazard Emitters' as one of your Sci skills. That should be enough. Anything else that can overcome that combination would probably kill you regardless of ship-type anyway. Just know when to run ^-^ or have a stack of components. A 'Resilient' type shield is also recommended.

Just played Kerr'at in my BoP, and I'm convinced. I've been shredding fed ships like nobody's business, and they can barely dent my ship. I just went toe to toe with a defiant who was higher level than me and destroyed him. My hull only got to 63 %, because he had a Hargh'peng torpedo. The speed and firepower of this ship more than make up for the lack of hull and shield strength.

I'm guessing you've gone for the BoP, and a good choice it is, indeed.

I just wanted to point out that there is also a mirror Vor'cha. It's called "Mirror Battlecruiser" on the exchange

Additionally, I've got one tac with the Heghta, and now a new one with the Negh'var: I love both, though for very different reasons. The bop you found out about yourself; the Negh'var is a beast with a tac captain too (I maxed impulse thrusters for it, btw, that helps). In that one, one relies more on resilience and brute staying power when slugging it out with your foes.

Another advantage the KDF has... better players. Or at least more experienced ones.

It will be interesting once PvP is no longer faction specific.

True. In Ker'rat myself and 1 other BoP massacred 6 Feds (2 cruisers, 2 sci ships, and 2 escorts) who spawned next to us in just a couple of minutes. They didn't stand a chance.

I got myself a Hegh'ta and I'm saving my ECs for a mirror Qin (and maybe a vor'cha further down the road). So far my Hegh'ta has performed beautifully in both PVE and PVP. It's been far better at tanking than I expected it to be, probably due to its Boff layout flexibility.
